It's scenes like this that New Moon is missing! The times when the numb mask slips and Edward is there again - a memory, but a strong enough image to be real.

That was really well written and fitted perfectly into the book. Just like the time Bella thinks/wishes Jacob was Edward when he's saved her.

This is gorgeous, and could fit perfectly into the pages of New Moon. I can perfectly see the grin on Mike's face when she opens her eyes and how she's so hopeful, and how the sight of him just makes her so incredibly sad, because it's not who she thought it was. Oh, Bella *hugs her*
