One of the casualties of the move was the stylus on my turntable, and today I finally got round to replacing it. How weird. I thought the stylus wore down and had to be replaced every now and then.

Well maybe that was way back in the day before everyone started listening to CDS/MP3s.

However, I can't complain about the shop. I got back home and discovered the lifting mechanism on the turntable wasn't working properly. So I phone the shop up to book it in for a service and they told me over the phone how to fix it for nothing instead (which was nice :-) ).

Although on the downside I am now on their books as "vinyl-enthusiast".

I find all that audiophile stuff a little offputting and while I once had a nice turntable, have stuck quite happily with mediocre equipment for some time now. I found that properly washing the records makes a big difference though.

Just off to warm up me magnets!
