Well, the Coffee House was a success. We all enjoyed it thoroughly. I was really mad, because I wrote a long entry on how my friends are practicly my family and the closest people in my life, and freakin LJ was in read-only mode. jeez!!! Anyways, I'm actually REALLY pissed about something thats to early to talk about, but whatever. If I get a ( Read more... )

Jon,
All of us in Drama really love you . If you ever need to talk to some one we will be there, and we have all been in your situation and have been frustrated with Grace's casting methods but it is the way high school theater operates and we just have to make the best of what we have. Don't doubt yourself, we think your and excellent actor. Also, thanks for all your help with Coffee House, you were the best assistant ever!!!!
Love,
Catherine, Helen, and Jackie

oh jon bates, i know how you feel, it really is all politics and has nothing (or not much) to do with how good you are at acting. (case in point: Caught in the fucking Villain's Web). But don't worry, you're an awesome actor. I saw your audition as the dentist and LOVED it.
by the way, when do we find out if we're in it?
p.s. if you're in chorus then I probably will be too, so you at least won't be alone!
peace

well said jon!! yeah well thats one thing i hate about the theatre department at south fork too! Everyone has to be pleased and someone gets a part because they've paid their dues not because they deserve it. But fortunately thats not how real theatre works! You always have next year if this doesnt work out! You should still be in the cast no matter what part you get or you'll regret it in the end!

Yeah, I've cooled down now and I've decided to bite my tongue and just bare with it. It's going to be tough, but I'll do it.

I KNOW how you're feeling woot102404 February 13 2005, 14:02:58 UTC
I can totally relate!

All my life i have had a Chorus role.

that's 13 shows and never having a line.

Your time will come. Trust me. When mine finally did i was thrilled. It's all a learning experience. And sarah is correct, REAL theater is NOTHING like this.
(except for the rare "the director is dating the lead" situation [like phantom when Webber was dating 'Cristine'] but it's ok!) lol

Don't fret Jon. You'll be fine....(do shiloh shows!)
