Today I taught classes all on my own. My cooperating teachers have left me in charge of everything and subs sit in their places as the first day of classes began and ended today. I have never read "The Crucible," and only know that it is anallegory for the Holocaust. Actually, I'm not even sure that I KNOW that. Perhaps I just heard it somewhere.

As for the nerves, that's totally okay. Even four years into this teaching thing, I still have sweaty palms on that first day. I like it. Gives me a little edge. You'll be amazed at how fast you settle into the rhythm. The day is fast-approaching when you will be indignant at having to share YOUR classroom with cooperating teachers and subs. Trust me.
