Three Mobile have phones by Huawei which are decently priced and good spec. I've got the Honor 7 which was their flagship one last year when I got it, and my son has the cheaper Honor 5. We both play Pokemon Go on them successfully.

Thanks for your advice! Alas, the Three website doesn't have the Honor 5 or 7 in stock at the moment. I have decided to go with Three though, as their roaming deal is pretty good.

My friend just got a refurbed smartphone second hand to play Pokemon Go with.

I don't know exactly which one, but suggests that the specs are reasonably easy to meet
