So, whose idea was it, anyway, for me to learn to play guitar just so I could be in a play? Whoever that person is should be rounded up and shot on sight.

I have been to plenty of plays where the music is canned and the singer just pretends to play the instrument.

When I auditioned, I suggested either recorded guitar or someone onstage accompanying me. But nothing doing -- Bitsy Mae has to play her own guitar.

Do you have a sense of where your difficulties lie? Are you having trouble remembering the fingering? Making the chords sound when you get the fingering right? Singing while playing? Or something else altogether? Contact me and let's talk.

My big problem is singing while playing while walking while not looking at the strings because I need to interact with the audience. I can remember the chords, but some of the transitions are proving much more difficult that I expected. And when I play at tempo while in character, my fingers don't want to reliably find the right locations. The director is happy that I've reached the point I'm at, given that I'd never touched a guitar until Christmas; but I want it to sound genuinely good, and right now it doesn't.

Shit. Shit, shit, shit. I CANNOT get from a G to a D7 in time. I've been trying for days. This is monumentally frustrating.
