It's transfig, so I could totally do diagrams. My people turn out weird though. What are you working on?

Communication charms. They're really, really complicated though. I don't understand the Protean charm at all. What are you turning people in to?

Not me, they're turning themselves into animals. Protean charm's like, N.E.W.T level stuff isn't it?

Is it? Oh. I guess that explains it. *He pulls a face at this books. He's gonna need way more if he has to go all the way up to NEWT stuff. He's distracted enough by this thought that it takes him a few seconds to understand what she just told him.* Wait, are you doing animagus stuff? I wanna be able to do animagus stuff. I bet I'd be a really cool dragon. I'd do the spell alllll the time. Need to go high? Dragon! Start a fire? Dragon! Carry heavy stuff? Dragon!!

I'm looking at the theory, I don't think I'll try it but it's cool to think about. You could probably be a dragon, but then you couldn't change inside.

I'd be a small dragon inside and a big dragon outside.

Yeah. Can't you just picture what you want to be each time you do the spell? When I turn a beetle into a button, I don't get the exact same button each time, even when I start from the same beetle. I can though, *he quickly adds like Professor Popa will somehow hear this and pop up next to them to be disapproving.*

I guess self-transfiguration is different? Maybe if the beetle turns itself into a button it'll be the same button.

I can show you the ones we've used in class so far, and I'll ask Holden what they do sixth year. He'll totally know, charms is his thing.
