Death never looks how you expect it to. In movies and on TV, or even when you make your own assumptions of what it should look and seem like, it's all really generic; not completely in a bad way, but obviously there is no ballad playing in the background, no onlookers feeling sorry for you. it's all just very simple. i love how songs can make you think of times; generally it's easy to associate songs with people and memories, but i'm talking about time frames: winter time for deathcab, broken social scene for early spring, rilo kiley for summer. i think it's wonderful that songs can capture concepts as far as the "big picture" but sometimes i find myself ( Read more... )
