Urban Exploration in Forest Park

I got a camera from my dad and figured I would go take some pictures.

I am reasonably certain that the red bark sapling is a prunus serrula, or Tibetan cherry tree. It has the characteristic astonishing red bark and I'm pretty sure the leaves on your picture, albeit somewhat withered, are the right shape. If you go back in the spring and it's flowering, I'm right.

Here is the conundrum: should I tell you that I already knew this, or that I spent about 10 minutes looking it up? One way I look really smart, the other way I look really dedicated, and both ways I kind of look a little insane. Any way, pick whichever explanation you decide is more appealing and run with it! I'm going to go gnaw my hands off.

There are Tibetan trees in my park? That's awesome!

I wonder what other weird crap I can find in there.
