Fic! Only... it's Lost fic.

Following is a one-shot fic I wrote out of nowhere, and it's been stewing for a long time, and it took me forever to write it.  So, here it is.  The style is a bit weird-- I suppose you would say it's a series of vignettes in the life of Charlie Pace, Dom Monaghan's character on Lost.  I hope you enjoy it.

Oh. My poor fucked-up, guilt-ridden, oh-so-Catholic Charlie. This is the story I've been waiting for someone to tell about my boy.

With the prayers, and the penance, and the Liam. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

Awww... oh, thank you. Thank you for the lovely, lovely compliment. The story was easier to finish when I didn't feel so tangled up in it-- when I first started thinking about it, it just flat made me sad. Glad it did Charlie some justice.

I never want to hear those words, "ONLY a Lost fic," ever again. This was FABULOUS. I loved it brilliantly and madly; it's one of my favourite stories of yours, across fandoms.

ONLY, my arse.

I just meant it wasn't what I usually offered.

I'm glad you liked it. Truly, I was afraid I'd let it sit too long, and then I feared it had stagnated and wouldn't be what I wanted it to be. Thank you for the lovely threat... er... compliment. *hugs*

Ah, my heart. I've read these bits over and over again, but they're still so gut-wrenching. Poor Charlie.

Here via sparkythehamstr...

I'm totally at a loss as to what to say but after reading this, but I know I have to say something.

This is definitely the most powerful and moving Charlie fic I've ever read and it feels so right.

This is the definitive Charlie character study for me.

And speaking as someone who grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school, the parts with confession and Charlie's guilt really resonated.

Excellent job.

*adds to memories*

I still feel this feedback is inadequate in comparison to this fic. But I'm still kind speechless. ;)

Oh my. I don't even begin to know how to say thank you to this review. I'm completely humbled and flattered.

I'm Catholic myself, though no Catholic school, so some of it was very easy for me to connect with.

Wow. Just wow. Thank you.
