I suppose I should keep my private thoughts in a hand written journal; I'm afraid the delicacies of technology escape me. Oh don't worry, I'm not angry with you.
I appreciate the thought, Alphonse, but... I'm afraid there is no one left alive with the power to forgive me.
Father, in the end, the only person who can forgive you is yourself. It is not worth seeking forgiveness form people who are incapable of it. Indeed, perhaps someday, with prays those we crossed will learn how to forgive and to be human. It is all we can ask for, but yet, can not expect.
You walk a very difficult path, father, but do not turn down the brief moments of happiness that come to you. They will give you strength to face what life offers.
Mother never regretted you leaving; she always smiled, when she talked about you. She loved you very dearly and forgave you not being there. She knew you left for important reasons. Is that not enough, father, to know she never once stopped loving you and accepted you for who you were? She understood true love. There is no higher force than that.
I can only forgive myself for the wrongs done against my own soul, Alphonse. I don't seek forgiveness - how can a man seek something he can never attain? - but...
I've been lost in the past recently. Time starts to be funny, when you live a very long time. Some days it seems like you were just born, and some days it feels like my life with your mother was hundreds of years ago.
I've found peace with what happened in Risembool. Your mother... I don't know what she told you, about why I left, but I know it wasn't the truth. There was no need for you to know, you were both too young. And even she didn't know all of it. It's difficult for a man to confront his own sins, but I believe you know that. But I loved her, and I'm blessed to have shared her life. I don't regret it. And besides that...
I'm not the one who needs forgiveness from Trisha.
It does. We both have too much damn pride. But I'm so used to having to fend for me and Al its hard to let anyone else in. But...I'm trying I really am.

Father, I'm sorry for prying.
Please give brother and I the chance to make you the lucky man. Ok?
I love you, very dearly. I forgive your mistakes, regardless of how dark and horrid they are.
Take care, please...

I' m sorry for prying. I'll do better at it from now on. I just...I don't know how to talk to you. As mom said you and I are too much alike.

You are like me, mostly when I was younger. And instead of it bringing us together, it pushes us apart.

I know you are. It's going to take us a while, I think.
I... I'm not very good at being a father.
