-Well isn't she lucky that the lawn she's collapsed on happens to be owned by a doctor.-

My my, this really has been a busy week...

[Comes to with a gasp, and begins hyperventilating, though they sound more like sobs because each harsh breath stirs the fractures in her ribcage.]

You may want to calm down, lest you aggravate that. -With a snap of her fingers, Eirin was soon joined by... a pack of rabbits. Carrying her supplies.-

[Grits her teeth and tries to do as the unfamiliar voice instructs, groaning as she settles down against the cool grass. She's slightly delirious from everything she's been through in the past couple of hours and all she wants is something to dull the pain, but she has enough sense left in her to give the stranger some information.] My name...is Garnet. There was an accident...another is dead.

[Happens by this horriffic sight as he's out taking a walk, and rushes over to kneel down next to Garnet.]

"Hey! What the hell happened? Who did this to you?"

[Stirs at the sound of a familiar voice, groaning through clenched teeth when she turns her head towards Jecht. Dried blood is caked like mud on much of her face.]

...It was an...accident. [Hisses, and for a moment it seems like she's gonna go right back to sobbing because she's laying right on the ribs she broke and Splendid's death is still fresh in her mind.] It hurts so much. [Her voice is reduced to a whisper.]

"Ah, shit... What the hell am I supposed to do about this..."

[Moves his hands like he wants to help, but isn't sure where is okay to touch so he doesn't hurt her more.]

"...Can you move?"

I'm not sure... [So she tries to prop herself up on her good arm, though the limb gives out from under her very quickly. She's left laying on her side, and it's only with effort that she can turn herself face-up. Her broken arm is sprawled out awkwardly on the grass beside her, still bleeding slightly from where the splintered bone broke her skin.]
It's my ribs...I just can't get up...

[What is it with you maiming young teenage girls, Mayfield? You're going to break Dias' Big Brother instinct if you keep yanking that lever all the time.

Dias does in fact check to make sure she's breathing before carefully - barely even touching her - beginning to assess the damage. It's pretty bad, but unless she's got some internal injuries he's not seeing(and she very well may), not lethal. The only question remains what he's going to do about it.]

Hey. Can you hear me? [His voice is low, but urgent.]

[Garnet is oblivious to the young man who is examining her injuries and remains sprawled out face-down on the grass. Each breath she takes shallow, and her pulse is faint, but as bad as her current state is, it's almost stable. Her bleeding has stopped for the most part, though some of the larger wounds, like her broken arm and a raw patch on her left cheek and forehead, are still wet to the touch.

She comes to at the sound of his voice, eyes sliding open slowly. It's clear that Garnet is very reluctant to move, very afraid of causing herself more pain. She tries to respond verbally, but her voice comes out as a cracked whine.]

[Dias glances back the way she clearly came. If she managed to move herself from wherever this happened to his yard...well, it's clear she can be moved. He'd be worried about hurting her more by moving her, but...he figures it's damage already done, at this point. And he can't just leave her out here on the ground. She needs to be cleaned up, and then he needs to find someone who can set her arm...or do it himself. He's had broken bones he's set himself, but he's never tried to do it on someone else.]

I need to take you inside. I'll be careful, but it's going to hurt anyway. Do you understand?

[Garnet's breathing quickens when he mentions wanting to move her - just the thought of more pain is enough to make her panic. The last thing she remembers is leaving Splendid's body and attempting to stagger, crawl, and finally drag her way home - all to the pulsing beat of the hurt throughout her body. At this point, she is nothing more than a tortured nerve ending. The queen has reached her limit, she cannot bear any more. She's being nonsensical, but she's beyond logic and reason. All that matters is avoiding further agony. Her expression contorts into a grimace, and she shakes her head in response.] No, no...no more, please.

[Joshua comes out of the house and stops, staring at the bloodied girl on the ground.]

. . . this is new.

[Garnet is still as a corpse and practically dead to the world for the moment, completely unaware that someone has found her.]

[Joshua approaches her cautiously and crouches down by her body, looking over her injuries as he debates over what to do. On one hand, as the Composer, he's seen more than his fair share of deaths and been impartial to all of them - in fact, judging by some of these wounds, he'd be doing her favor by letting her die and resetting the next morning instead of having to wait for them to heal over. Plus, he has no idea how she came to be in this state - she could just be an innocent victim, or maybe she attacked someone and bit off more than she could chew. Logic says that leaving her on the lawn would be the best choice.

On the other hand, this isn't Shibuya, he'd like to know if there was a threat in town doing this to people, a bloody corpse in front of his house would attract attention that would be annoying to deal with, and Sanae would scold him if he found out. Joshua sighs and shakes her shoulder as gently as he can, careful not to aggravate her wounds.]Looks like you had quite an interesting night, hee hee. Need any help, ( ... )

[Garnet is nowhere near lucid when she's suddenly woken up by a boy she's never seen before, and her expression is confused and apprehensive. She stares up at him while her mind sluggishly attempts to connect this moment to the last snippet of consciousness that she can remember.

Is this what drinking too much feels like? The sudden, clueless awakening, feeling like she had been kicked down a flight of stairs...and you can see the two ends of film, past and present, snap together in the sudden widening of her eyes.

Interesting is one of the last words she'd use to describe what had happened the night before ( ... )
