OMG I've never heard this phrase before, but I love it.

And then poor Frank Burst? Not so much with the smoothness. “Hey, Modell! I know your name now! I know where you live!”

That line makes me cringe every time, because Burst just comes off as such a bullying idiot. Modell and his lawyer are both just like wtf? and then calmly walk away.

I passed an empty house being used by the county police as a SWAT training site, and I seriously wanted to stop and watch when I saw a guy walking around with a battering ram.

Ha! This is great. I know what you mean, though. Mmm, SWAT gear...

This is POSSIBLY my favorite hand hold moment in the whole show. (The other that comes to mind immediately is at the end of The Red and The Black when they're in the back seat of the police car and Scully reaches up and gently pries Mulder's hand away from his face.) I just love the way she works her fingers in there and then he curls his longer ones around them. It's not a traditional handhold in the palms-facing-each-other way, you know? I don't know why I like this so much better (or why I've apparently analyzed it this much), but just, gah. ::draws hearts::

I agree with all of this, so much so that I felt the need to quote it back to you. But just YES to all of it. And you're so right, it's their fingers clutching at each other, rather than a traditional handhold. I love it so.

I love how Scully just patiently tolerates Mulder being a know-it-all about Modell’s past, then pulls the “did you know he applied to the FBI?” card. She's so clearly delighted to be able to one-up him.

God, I love it when their brains argue. Mulder gets so flustered he starts stuttering: “Well, o-o-o-okay. What’s your big theory?”

YES to both of these! Oh, the sexy, sexy smart people banter. Pusher is one of my all time favorite episodes. It's so perfect in every way.

And it's banter that means something! They're not doing it to be cute, they're doing it because they're so smart and hot and they really want to talk to each other. I swear, I would just watch those two sit in a room and talk for two hours. (Chris, are you listening?)
