LiveJournal: Why We Oppose SOPA and PIPA

Jan 17, 2012 17:09

LJ owners profit from child porno. 0_lechim January 20 2012, 14:43:25 UTC
Did you know that a member of supervising council (!!!) of LJ,
and one of the main LJ profiteers
has posted child porno ?!

If you think that THAT is ok, go on, and support current structure of LJ, and this letter in this post.

As far as I go, I will support ANY legislation that will hurt profiters of child prono!

TO ALL LJ STUFF:
member of LJ's supervising council
Artem Lebedev posted child porno in LJ.
He (A.Lebedev) is still a key figure for this company.

How in the world do you write this "moral" letter,
while LJ is still profiting from child porno ?!

As long as LJ "Tema" is still intact LJ as a company IS profiting from child porno.

Look thats awful and everything but do you realize that for people like me it's therapy. I write poems and stories and talk about my favorite tv shows, and make graphics and manips and sing on videos and everything else creative you could think of. I would never ever post child pornography, none of my friends on here would either, but if SOPA and PIPA went through we wouldnt have anywhere to share our art, and we wouldn't have an outlet.
Do you think thats fair too? Don't let one person, or a few people, ruin it for the rest of us....

SOPA translates as trash in Swedish, and PIPA translates as squeak in the same language. So SOPA and PIPA basically translates as squeakin' trash. And that summarizes my opinion on those laws.

I'd like my community to do that thing ONTD has done, when you click on a post to read the comments, you get a page with a graphic that tells you to come here. Any ideas?
