alright kids, the moodtheme is finally done!! i really hope everything is to your liking -- i'm so excited to share it with everyone! i present, for your viewing pleasure:
determined
exanimate
flirty
hungry
thoughtful
uncomfortable
The Lonely Island moodtheme (YAY!)
(^ that link goes to the theme i created for my journal; instructions on how to do this for yourself are included below.)
THANK YOU again (x infinity) to everyone who commented with pictures and/or words of encouragement; this absolutely could not have been done without all of you. ♥♥♥ which brings me to the issue of credit -- pretty, pretty please with sugar on top, give credit where it's due! it would be super great if you could include this (or something just like it) in your lj profile and/or the sidebar of your journal (if your style has one):
moodtheme by
thelonelyisland. it'd also be rad to get credit for my icons whenever people use them, but that's a problem for another day. alas.
you'll notice that for some of the moods i went for a laugh rather than taking it seriously/literally (e.g. busy, depressed). i figured since our shared appreciation of humor is basically the point of all this, no one would mind too much. :P also, i tried to keep everything fairly consistent in terms of levels, color balance, etc. but in a few cases this was next to impossible, so please excuse any imperfections. ;)
instructions - admin console
download the zip file including all 132 moods and the ever-important adminconsole.txt
here. unzip and upload all the images to the location of your choosing (e.g. Photobucket), then open the adminconsole.txt file and replace
http://www.yourhost.com with the appropriate address. don't change the filenames in the text file -- some of the images are .png (most are .jpg) so if you change the filename or type for any of them, they won't work.
next, go to the
Admin Console and enter the following in the text box:
moodtheme_create "your moodtheme title" "your moodtheme description"
replacing 'your moodtheme title' and 'your moodtheme description' with the actual title and description you'd like to use (e.g., i used "The Lonely Island moodtheme" "by thelonelyisland community"). then click execute. the next page will provide you with your new moodtheme's number, which you'll need to copy because you can't continue without it. also, don't navigate away from that page.
go back to the text file i provided and this time replace 12345 with the number you just got from the Admin Console. then copy&paste the entire contents of the file into the current page's text box, and click execute again. the next page simply confirms that you were successful.
finally, go to the
Custom Mood Theme Editor, and you should see a moodtheme with the title you specified earlier. to the right of the preview moodicons, click Use, and voilà! you have a Lonely Island moodtheme!!
instructions - custom mood theme editor
download the zip file
here, then unzip and upload all the images to the location of your choosing (e.g. Photobucket). (you won't need the adminconsole.txt file, so feel free to delete or ignore it.)
go to the
Custom Mood Theme Editor and enter a name for your theme (e.g. The Lonely Island moodtheme), then click Create.
fill in each text field with the requested information. for example, angry should look like this:
URL:
http://www.yourhost.com/angry.jpg Width (in pixels):
90
Height (in pixels):
45 replacing
http://www.yourhost.com with the appropriate address. each image filename exactly matches the name of the mood with the exception of 'pissed off,' which does not contain a space (pissedoff.jpg). please note that most of the images are .jpg, but the following 23 are .png (i didn't realize this was potentially an issue until writing up these directions; sorry!): amused, artistic, bitchy, creative, devious, distressed, dorky, drunk, enthralled, exanimate, frustrated, hyper, intimidated, mischievous, moody, nauseated, restless, rushed, sick, stressed, thoughtful, tired, weird -- therefore their URLs will be (for example)
http://www.yourhost.com/amused.png (again, replacing the 'yourhost.com' section with the correct address).
after you've entered the URLs, widths, and heights for each mood (don't miss any! you'll have to do them again!), click Save Changes. back at the
Custom Mood Theme Editor, you should see a moodtheme with the name you specified earlier. to the right of the preview moodicons, click Use, and voilà! you have a Lonely Island moodtheme!!
if you encounter any problems feel free to ask for help, but keep in mind that i'll probably be gone for most of the day so it might take me a little while to get back to you.. speaking of which, happy easter! :)
