Just got done watching Bladerunner. Late 80/ early 90s was a dark period for movies. They were so awful that they actually turned out amazing. Bladerunner is actually based on a book called 'Do Androids Dream of Metal Sheep ( Read more... )

OK, I'll bite - why are they called sungods?

Also, Abkillers are aptly named.

Sungods were given their name during the time when I used to spends weeks in the snow stricken lands of Virginia. We would do these exercises in the morning, just praying to the 'Sungod' that the sun would rise and warm up the land. It never worked on the landscape, but it always served to warm up our bodies.

phillip k dick is a pretty swell author.

i thought the final cut of blade runner was far better than the original, just because of the removal of the narrative. it was so much more meaningful when rutger hauer decided to let deckard live. makes you think a little more instead of being force fed morals.

also, rutger hauer is a pretty badass villain.

Good correction. It was late and I was tired.

I've actually only seen the final cut. I haven't seen the original, but let me tell you, the doll maker living on his own really freaked me out.
