It's just sad because the rest of the score is so interesting, musically. And then it sounds like a bad selection from American Idol.

Yeah, it sucks. I have mixed feelings about RENT - on one hand, I feel like I've kind of outgrown it; on the other, I can sing Mark Cohen's whiny nasal anthems note-perfect. In the shower, anyway.

but maybe it was ironic! 'cause doesn't she DIE right after he sings it to her? SHE DIES! because it's that BAD. and angel is the one that brings her back from the dead. probably, angel said something like, "i know the song is bad, but he's hot. and you can have aids together."
