I tried that sort of thing once and had a 2 inch long gash that needed stitches. Will try again.

a) How about some themed posts? For a start, why not focus on Japanese cuisine? I'd love to know how exactly sushi is different from sashimi, what to expect in a seafood bar, the best way to serve/eat fugu and so on. :p ( ... )

'Cause I don't know too much about Japanese food, but just enough to know I don't like it much. ;)

1. An article on vegetarian replacements for all the common eastern dishes :-)
2. Perhaps a tutorial on how to work without oil

An article on different cooking implements would be nice. How does one buy a good wok? What should one look for in a draining spoon? etc.

Another one on how food is eaten is also a good one. Where do people use spoons? Where do they use forks? Where and why do people use chopsticks? How about hands?

An article on traditional breakfast in SE Asia would be great too. Anyone who has only eaten dinner or lunch at one of the Punjabi(or Bangladeshi)-run Indian restaurants in the West will have no idea about the diversity of breakfast foods in India. Similarly, people who have eaten at Thai and SE Asian restaurants would usually not know about what breakfast is in these places.
