These things keep on and on... they never stop at marriage. After that it will be a kid, then a sibling for the kid, then the kids' school, college, jobs, their marriage... the cycle continues.
Ah! don't worry...even if you were to get hitched...parents manage to find something else to be worried about and the awkward silence follows yet again.
Your observation set me posting about it...it's interesting how in our culture we seem to be so engaged (to use an Orrible Pun) in the lives of others, and yet are not interested in other aspects of their existence.
I have learnt to handle such curiosity as part of the social scene I live in, so now such questions, which I used to think pretty nosy, don't bother me much any more.
Even more interesting to me, though, is your relatives' "assumption" powers!
