You have to admire Tupac Shakur. I actually think there's something in the statute books about it. Rapper, actor, bon viveur, murder victim - he was a genuine monotesticular Renaissance man and de facto poet laureate of the 'hood.

But you know in his seminal (in all senses) opus California Love, apparently the 346th best song ever, there's that ( Read more... )

I thought that the one line from "Pump It Up" by Elvis Costello was "I've been on tentacles" which made no sense what so ever so I blamed the phrase on his being British and my being American. Yes and yes! Just past my 3-year anniversary as a resident and (whisper it) maybe starting to get slightly itchy feet, although not yet itchy enough to have had any ideas as to where might be next on the itinerary.

Still no wolves in Scotland, sad to say, although I have heard they have wolves - and bears! - in Abruzzo which is the next region to the east of here.

Hoping you are very very well.

When he asked her who the band/singer of "Fanny In The Chair" was, she hadn't a clue. He asked her to sing him a couple of lines and she started "F-F-F-Fanny in the chair..." Apparently, she thought "B-B-B-Benny and the Jets" sounded a hell of a lot like "F-F-F-Fanny in the chair ( ... )

There was a kid at school who sang the song, 'Blame it on the Boogie' as including the lyric, "I spent the night in Bristol / Every night a disco".
