Excellent. A fascinating premise, and very well executed.

Thanks!

It was great fun to write and I now know several fascinating facts about Winston Churchill that I didn't know before.

Ooh, that was fantastic -- and a chillingly understated ending. The premise in itself is intriguing, of course, but I particularly like the idea that the people who can be recruited to the WIS are precisely the ones who least ought to be in such a position.

I'm very flattered you thought it good, as I really admire your writing.

Yes, the WIS are a nasty lot, aren't they? It seemed to me that in real life that is exactly what would happen.

Excellent story.

And they will eventually win, the WIS will. People like Harry will be put up against the wall and shot for the crime of being a wizard.

What I find myself intrigued by is that fact that one of the people now has a grandson in Hogwarts. Did Finch-Fletchley of the WIS die without knowing his grandson, or did he disinherit him? I can't imagine that he'd allow a wizard in the family...

*Enigmatic smile*

That story may be told some day. Watch this space!

This is wonderful! The way you've handled the premise is fascinating and chilling, with a very real sense of building tension and dread. Great job!

Sadly, that is a very realistic implication. As was perhaps the implication that the 51st PM might not make the right call? :)

Yes, I'm definitely in two minds about Our Tone. I like to think he'd do the right thing, but ...

Which is why I ended the story at that point, leaving the reader to make up his or her own mind about it.

When he first got in I think he would have done the right thing. Now...? not so sure.
