My sister (and thus, my townhouse) got a washer & dryer last night. Hand-me-downs from Dad, who was getting a new one. I replaced the hoses, tubes, etc, last night, and tested 'em out this morning

I definitely want to see Milk and I am going to watch Slumdog Millionaire at some point since I happened to have obtained a copy.
And this cracked me up: Also, Boots (the giant, year-old lhasa) is terrified of them. As he fears all nouns except ham, this means they're probably real, rather than a shared delusion. My clothes may really be cleaner soon.
A comment and a question- I tested this out by walking up behind Boots & saying "Communism". He stood up, looked over his shoulder, and ran to Katina. I tried "shrimp" an hour or so later, when I had him cornered. He laid down, rolled onto his side, and played dead.

Have you ever seen Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang? It's a sort neo-noir black comedy. One of the main characters is a gay detective. While watching, I found myself wondering 1)how believable the character being gay was (as in, did the performance make it clear or did they just say he was gay and then meh) and 2)whether or not you would like said character.
Jake, the Boots thing cracked me up. Your entries are always hilarious. I wish I'd had you friended years ago, you probably would have stemmed the tide of my bouts of depression.
