do do

stolen from everyone:

pick a story of mine and I'll tell you something about it that never made it to the page.

I haven't written much lately, but what I have should be on my fic tag.

I might even get around to answering, since we're likely stuck at Nosh for the rest of the night.

I wrote "dance me in" at the same time I wrote "as the blue bird sings" - in fact, I think there are bits of each that originally belonged to the other.

I had a really hard time writing Ziva's voice, and struggled through the whole story. the first section though, where Ziva has just come out of the Osgood interrogation, felt right the moment I wrote it.

the last scene, where Ziva brings Abby the caf!pow, never worked out the way I wanted it too and I have a hard time reading it, even three years later.

I will always hold that "A Good and Sweet Year" is a far superior Ziva/Abby story.

*nods* Thank you! I always like to hear what authors like or don't/didn't like in their own work. It's a really nice way for me to look at my own methods of problem solving in my writing when I see what others do.

wow. it's possible I haven't read through "Astral Projection in Ten Minutes" since I originally posted it. upon rereading it I, um, don't hate it as much as I thought I would?

I wrote it in the space of an hour or so, I think, and mostly just cause I knew it would make Jo happy. also, I'd probably just finished re-watching HEX. (which, if you've not seen it before, YOU MUST! British witches and ghosts and lesbians yay!)

hmm. I always really liked Joan and Judith on screen, and loved it when wizened_cynic wrote Joan/Judith, but. never really felt compelled to write them myself. and, um. yay ghostly sex dreams?

I honestly can't think of anything to say about "Mail Call, Brownies and Other Acts of God." except maybe that I'm pleasantly surprised by how much it doesn't suck upon rereading.

also, I really miss that show, and the crazy part of the fandom that we were in and. some day I will go back and rewatch and write surfer-nun/Helen fic. and bask in the crazy Italian love that is the Girardi family.
