Halloween Dance <3

The Halloween dance was off to a great start. There were pastel orange and pruple floating punpkins and candles. The same colors adorned the tables.

The elves had outdone themselves with the food and the music was loud and everyone was having a good time.

They had basically finished at the last second, but they had finished, so there was a haunted house entrance, followed by a collection of carnival games leading to the food tables and then in to the dance proper. The house had spooks and gags and fun on-theme music and distorted mirrors. The carnival games had things to throw and hit and traverse and attempt to hook and actual prizes. Bolly still thought they should have managed a few more or at least different games, but also they should probably have started in June to cover it all, so he was accepting that they'd done the best they could, eating from a plate of sausage rolls, and trying to catch a wriggling, glow in the dark, entirely artificial fish in a spookily misty pond.

Sylvie comes up and puts her arms out for a hug. "Thank you so much, Bolly. It's all amazing. It's just perfect." She feels a but bad, she actually didn't originally intend for it to be this much. But her ideas kept getting biger and so did Bolly's so...here they are. But it was a lot of work.

Boll approves of all hugging. "I think like a third of the school was working on It by the end there!"

"I know! I'm glad so many people wanted to be involved. That's the way it should be." She looks around, "the games are really popular! Sofie got some cool prizes for us."

Sylvie was exhausted while she was decorated for the dance, she was worried she wouldn't be able to enjoy herself. But by the time she got i her costume with her hair and makeuo done she was renergized.

Her flapper dress was dark purple, she had on purple gossamer stockings and gold jewelry. She transfigured her hair into a chin length bob and dyed it purple. She felt every bit the part and couldn't wait to Charleston, she'd grab Alfie when he has a free moment.

She was working very hard not to start reareanging flowers and decorations, she was going to have fun tonight.

In the spirit of making sure Sylvie at least looks like she's having fun and not working, Averie materializes with a champagne flute. It's disappointingly normal punch, but she did somehow manage to tint the glass a smoky purple that matches Sylvie's outfit perfectly down to the little gold drink charm on the stem, so that's something.
"Did you know, I don't think Hogwarts has ever put on something like this! You have to drink to that."

Sylvie takes the punch and grins. She holds the flute up in a cheers, "I will drink to that," she laughed and took a sip. "This really did turn out cool, huh?"

"So cool! Completely amazing," Averie had gotten more into the planning than she'd thought she would. She had even ended up helping with the game booths--strictly because there was a deadline, not at all because she cared and had quite a bit of fun with the decoration spells. She raises her own matching flute, "We'll have to plan prom months in advance to top this."

Sofie was looking forward to the dance but she had a bit of a breakdown once she put her costume on. She knew Blue wasn't going to be there, pbviously, but it hit dofferent once she started getting ready. She almost bailed but her roomates talked her into going so here she is in her princess cotume looking like she's at a funeral.

She looks cute, she knows she does. Instead of her usual pink she went with an irridescent white leotard and tutu with white ballet slippers and a taira she borrowed from Maddie. He hair was wavy and pulled half up and she kept her makeup light.

She's working on her second chocolate cupcake.

Sylvie was busy when she first noticed Sofie the first time so all she did was wave. When she had a free moment she went to look for her. She was sad to see that Sofie still looked miserable. Well, that wouldn't do at all. "Finish that and come dance with me."

Sofie thinks about it, she takes her time finishing her cupcake. She reaches for a napkin to wipe her hands and mouth. "Ok," she says. "I kind of love this song."

"It's a great song, come on!" Sylvie takes her hand. She wiggles over to the dance floor. She twirls Sofie. "Are you having any fun at all?"

Averie's having a little bit of a hard time not looking entirely smug about how well the night's going and how cute she looks in her costume. She'd gone for an almost Theda Bara amount of eyeshadow, which wasn't really far from the amount of makeup she usually wore, just dark and smoky instead of bright and sparkly. The deep blue and silver silk affair she'd gotten her mother to send over was so perfect it could be actual vintage, who knew? Averie had cast her aunt's favorite little beauty spell which subtly bent the light around her to her best advantage. Mostly she was getting improbable but effective catchlights and very vintage diffuse lighting but every once in a while she was getting the full Morticia Addams and it had looked so good in the dorm when they were getting dressed that it definitely looked good here. That was her main excuse for hanging out decidedly closer to the food than the dance floor, that and making sure everything was still just as pretty as when they started. It definitely had nothing to do with how nobody

Warrington needed a little help with his costume. Thank goodness for Val who managed to get the navy and black pinstripe suit for him. He had to admit he looked really hot. "Hey, want to dance? Or are you waiting for someone specific to ask you?"

With a little scoff she whacks him on the shoulder, and then fixes his collar for him because she didn't really mean it, "Not as much as you are, so I wouldn’t start if I were you, darling. I'd love to dance."

He chuckles, he didn't mind. Now if anyone else did it...that's another story, He offers her his arm, "let's go then."

Warrington felt super hot in his navy and black pinstripe suit. He didn't think it would look this good and agreed to it for Sylvie, Val and Averie. He had played some games (he won prizes for Sylvie, Val and Averie) and now was walking around near the dance floor. He was absolutely not looking anyone, especially not Arlo. Nope, he didn't care where Arlo was, not at all.

"If you're dating three girls at once," Bolly says, without introductory preamble, "do they get two days a week each and then you keep the seventh day for rest?" He's wearing a glittery purple top hat, jacket and trousers over a black top and shoes that have bones painted on so that, between them and his makeup, he looks like a very fancy skeleton indeed.

Warrington rolls his eyes, "there's enough of me to go around he says," but he quickly adds. "I'm not dating anyone." He doesn't need that getting back to...people

"No, you're dating many ones," Bolly attempts to say solemnly but ruins the effect by immediately giggling.
