Valentine's Day Dance

Sylvie had never worked so hard on something in her life. Thankfully she had a lot of help and the dance turned out brilliantly. She used a traditional Valentines Day color palette for the dance...reds, white, pinks...a little bit of gold for accent. She kept it subdued and classy because Valentines decorations can get tacky easily.

Sylvie was walking the room and greeting people but doing last minute check on the decorations. She knew she looked good in her gold dress. She was going to stop and enjoy herself in minute.

Damn. She looked...damn. He wanted to talk to her but she looked too good. And he really was worried he end up bugging her like Montague. He likes her, yes, but now he just wants to be her friend.

It takes him a few minutes to work up the courage to speak to her. "Hey, everything looks great. And so do you."

Sylvie was moving a plant, slightly, and she stopped to smile at Alfie, "Thank you," she said. She looks him up and down, "I love the suit, it's very...you."

"I'm not sure that's a compliment," he laughed.

Lottie and Alfie got there early to set up the equipment and then he told to go find her guy and he'd get the party started. He wants her to have fun. He doesn't have a date and he's fine with that. He's just glad to be here.

He's wearing a festive suit. It's black with a floral pattern and little hearts. He always has to stand out.

"That's quite a look, mate," Blue chuckles. But he's bold to be teasing anyone about their clothes when he's currently rocking a rather loud pink suit. He's not sure he can pull off pink but it makes Sofie happy so...

"Find a mirror, dude," Alfie thinks Blue looks great though. But he has to tease him.

Blue laughs "I'm avoiding them to be honest."

Elena, wearing a simple black suit and a subtle notice-me-not charm, moves unobtrusively through the courtyard, watching for trouble. They are, for the most part, good kids, but a little adult supervision-even supervision most won't consciously notice is happening-goes a long way. She hopes to be bored all evening.

"I love your suit Professor. You look amazing!" Sylvie exclaimed and she meant it. It was simple but stunning.

"Thank you, Ms Scott. You are looking quite regal." Gold suited the girl. "I will keep my presence unobtrusive-I have no wish to dampen your guests spirits-but I thought you might find the evening more relaxing knowing there was an adult in the area."

Sylvie nods, "I definitely feel better with an adult around " For a lot of reasons she doesn't want her event ruined by someone doing something dumb. Also she heard Montague wasn't allowed to come but he might try and crash.

At Sylvie’s suggestion, Aubrey had eschewed dress robes from a more modern checked suit, which had proved a hit with his date at least. He was surprised by how much he enjoyed Catalina’s company. It helped that she had been explicit, in front of witnesses no less, that this was a casual thing, and she had no expectations of him and expected him to have none of her. They’d danced, and she’d proved to be as good at that as implied, and then Aubrey had volunteered to replenish their drinks, leaving her in the company of friends and heading towards the refreshment table.

"The dance isn't terrible," Jax said. He was getting a drink for himself. "You and Catalina seem to have hit it off."

“She’s surprisingly sharp-tongued for a Ravenclaw,” Aubrey agreed. “Some of her friends came stag if you want to try your luck.”

He considers this and nods,"I'll think about it."

Blue was waiting to dance with Sofie, who was off taking pictures with Lot and Ellie and Arlo. He was keeping himself busy by looking through the records Lot and Alfie brought, He felt a little self-conscious in the bright pink suit. He's not totally sure he pulls off pink but he'll do anything for Sofie.

“I considered wearing pink myself,” Aubrey said by way of greeting. “Maybe not quite that pink…”

Blue laughs and shrugs, "When Sofie said pink this isn't exactly what I pictured but she likes it so.."

“She’s just making sure she can’t lose you in the crowd.” He looks Blue up and down, and then shrugs. “It’s honestly fine on you.”
