In my current fandom, a writer has now written two stories about a character's overwhelming need to go to the bathroom.

Two stories.

Two.

Just about needing to go to the bathroom...like that was the only point of the stories?

Yep. And the author upped their game in the second fic by having our poor character go through the ordeal more than once.

I've been in fandom since '99, but this is a new one on me.

Almost sounds like a writer taking "write what you know" a little too literally :)
