I'm glad you had fun visting your friends in State College, and Lancaster looks very nice. I'm laughing at the funny place names though. Intercourse, Blue Ball and Virginville! What were they thinking??? LOL

Yikes, I hope you get the price of your house re-appraised!

Sorry to hear about Conal staying in 4th grade. He seems like a clever lad, so I'm sure you'll get him into the 5th next year.

Yay for the new furnace! :)

Oh yeah, the town names are hysterical. There's also a Paradise and don't forget Bird-in-Hand ("bird" here being slang for penis).

I know, I'm looking for the Deed. I know we have at least 2 copies, figures I can't find even one when I need it.

I think going over the 4th grade material will help him, he'll zip through the first bit.

Had to go to the town hall today to get a permit for the guys to put it in to the tune of $120. Dang.

Um, yeah, it's a lovely house and all with some impressive features, but no. I wouldn't pay that much for it. Take some photos along for your appeal.

Matthew has a loft bed and he just loves it. It gives him so much room to move around in his room and he feels kinda cool up there and all. Besides, the cats don't jump on him the way they do the rest of us.

Part of me thinks that it might be a good thing for Matthew to be held back a year. He'd have more confidence going over the materials a second time and he'd be one of the older ones in the class. The problem is the social stigma. He already suffers so much at the hands of the other kids that I wouldn't want to add fuel to the flames. His sister, unfortunately, would be leading the teasing brigade.

Go karate class! Woo hoo! I want to go to his black belt testing.

Kneazle. Kneazle. Kneazle. I still think it was a great line. ;)

Yeah, it is a cool house, and we love it and all, and it might be worth that much were it completely restored/remodled/relocated, but that isn't the case. I KNOW we wouldn't get more than about $70K for it.

Right, where I see the social stigma might help Conal put more effort into his studies.

He wants to learn how to use a bo staff.

It WAS a great line, hubby got a chuckle out of it as well. :-)

I hope the furnace keeps you guys all cuddly-warm this winter!

I think the town is trying to make some $$ off people thinking that they wouldn't appeal such things - fight the POWAH!

It better!

It's the entire county, and let me tell you, there are thousands of people in an uproar. There have been at least a dozen meetings throughout the area discussing the entire fiasco. You bet I'm fighting it!

sounds like they're entirely ignoring the depression in the market values in your area, and are only wishing to peel the skin from your flesh. looking at the age of the homes, and IF they were remodelled- and if a group of millionaires/bankers moved into your town and bought them all up to redo (which we all know they would NOT do). i love your home, i love it to the very CORE, yet i'd trust your opinion rather than theirs ( ... )

I honestly don't know what they're trying to do. I know in my city and surrounds, most of the people are retired folks living on little income. There'll be more foreclosures and homelessness, I'll bet. It's sad really. That plus the drug element coming in from NYC, Philly, NJ, and there will be nothing but Section 8 housing.

So glad you enjoyed the visit! Sorry again about the walking with your hip pain! It was good to see you all!

I'm sorry Conal did not finish enough material to move on to 5th this month, but I'm sure he will be able to by year's end.

Massive cheering for the furnace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And massive Bronx cheers for the county, and it's evil plan to force thousands of hardworking homeowners into foreclosure! >:( #$@%!!!!!

It was great! Spending time with you and yours is always great, you know that. We love you guys! Eh, I need to be in better shape, healthwise as well as weightwise.

Yeah, I'm still bummed though.

Tell me about it!

Honestly, you know what it's like around here, there will be an increase in homelessness as well.
