tuesday night kamilla and i were cooking dinner in the common room of one of the dorms when two of my credit cards and my student id were stolen. apparently while we were hunched over our spinach salad, someone came in, opened my wallet and swiped my stuff. my friend's student id also got stolen ( Read more... )

this morning i woke up at 6am to the sound of an ambulance and construction-- we had forgotten to close the windows. we made tea with our electric hot water kettle and gathered up our soap and toothbrushes and lone towel. then we treked back to the empty dorms and showered. it's amazing what a few minutes under a stream of hot water will do for ( Read more... )
