In the Great Hall, not a meal time

Sirius sat at the Gryffindor table contemplating a chess game he was playing with no-one.

He was bored and sat twiddling the black knight between his fingers rather than trying to move it out of harm's way.

He'd already charmed a light snow to fall on the Slytherin table at half hourly intervals, but even that was becoming boring.

Remus slipped up behind Sirius and whispered, "Miss me?" He sat down and looked at the board. "Who is winning?"

"Not me." Sirius said mournfully, then smiled and gestured to the Slytherin table where the latest snowfall had just started. "Although..."

He threw a pawn at Remus, which bounced harmlessly off of his forehead and landed neatly back where it had come from. "Miss you? Of course. I was bereft without you..." Hand on heart and woeful expression.

"Ow, prat." Remus was rubbing his forehead as he looked over at the snow-covered Slytherin table. "Nice work, good form." He turned back to Sirius and smacked him up the back of the head.

"Bereft, eh? More like bored."

"Oh yeah, I always get those words mixed up."

The Slytherins were having snowball fights. "I was thinking about different coloured snow. Lucky you turned up really." Sirius gestured to the board where the black Bishop and black King were arguing with the white King. "Want a game?"
