*climbs on soapbox*

Dear Fandom (you know who you are),

One week in, and there's already camps, infighting, and, even worse, insults towards others' ideas, and some serious condescension!  Could we hold off on offending newbies and old-timers alike until after we accomplish our goals?  It's counterproductive because if people are afraid of the ( Read more... )

I just don't like nastiness on the whole. I also don't like the infighting. On the other hand, I just found out I can save myself 6 hours a week.

a) You coined the term 'Fedcake' in your recaps + b) You're constantly begging for a shoutout = c) Cupcakes for Fedcakes to save Numb3rs.

If you can't see why this might piss people off, maybe some of the critique is justified.

a) I did not coin the term. The term was coined, I believe, by a very funny and brilliant person named Annie (as was IHOF, which was definitely coined by her). I asked, and was given permission to borrow the term. I don't want anyone thinking I'm taking credit for her idea.

b) Please, if you take my shout out comments as gospel, then you're missing the point. Do you also believe it every time I say I'm surprised when I yell at the tv and the characters don't listen? I have the same level of expectation for both actually occuring.

c) I didn't come up with this initial idea either. It was another fan's idea, which I thought was cute.

d) My addition: if you're posting anonymously -- that means I've probably met you online. Whatever I've done to personally offend you -- I am sorry that you mistook my silliness for seriousness. It was pure silliness, which is what I do. I hope this corrects your misperception.

I love that people think you have some sway with the creators...

And not suprise about the in fighting, N3 fans have been getting more and more ridiculous lately .. why I don't know!

I think people are taking what I say a little too literally. If I had any idea that was happening, I would've stopped entirely. I don't need and or want anyone thinking I have any power.

I think people are understandably upset about the cut. Most people are trying to be productive and trying to come up with ideas. I think those people should be applauded. Sure, not every idea is going to be plausible, but if we don't have an open forum, how are we going to find the one that's going to work?

Very true - the point is to save the show, isn't it? And that is the *only* point. I don't care who orchestrates what, or whose idea is the best - it's supposed to be how *we* save our show!!

I've got no idea what's going on (*prods brain chemistry*) but I'm not too surprised if there were any 'my squee is louder than yours/your squee drowns out my squee' antics. It's fandom and fandom will always be neurotic.

Let's just hope the whackos shut up soon.
