So why is it that some bosses, rather than looking to investigate what has happened in a particular situation, their first reaction is to seek who to blame?

Seems like a bizarre way to motivate your team.

That happened here this morning. When someone moved the discussion on to how to fix the problem I said "No, we MUST find out who's fault this is first, that's the important thing!" Think that probably made the point ;-)
