I am really pleased at the results of the US election. I honestly didn't think that the US was ready for a black president, but I am extremely glad to be proven wrong.

It shows that people can still pick the right man for the job, irrespective of moronic concerns as to whether he is black, white, pea green with yellow stripes, or comes from Alpha

I don't know what they do in the US, but over here, anyone who wishes to work in the public services (hospitals in any capacity, police, firemen) have to have a Criminal Records Bureau check. I too have just had one of these done, and it only took two weeks, it's back and I have of course, no record ( Read more... )
