Go with all haste to my favorite book of all time: A La Recherche du Temps Perdu, by Marcel Proust. Long long long, with more characters than you can shake a stick at. Not to mention unbearably beautiful.

In case you need a clincher, it's also Mr. Austin's favorite. ;-)

I was at the dump the other day.
