The Local Transit Company has been around for some time now. They are in charge of the public transportation system of Siren's Port, driving buses and in charge of the subway. All buses and subway cars are maintained at this location, and the main fueling station is located here, subsidized by a few other locations in the City.
More information on the transit system in Siren's Port can be found
HERE.
* Jobs can be found here for fairly good pay. Mechanics and drivers are needed, as well as dispatch and other odd jobs. This epartment also takes care of road signs and bus stop/bench maintenance.
Cinnagrad Cemetery
It is unknown how long this cemetery has been around, but it comes across as very old and slightly gothic. Back in the early days of the City, people much more frequently buried their dead in the earth. This small, round cemetery is dome-shaped with grave markers placed on top. Tombs, statues, headstones, and mausoleums can be found all tucked in very close to each other. The Cemetery is closed with a 12 foot tall wrought iron fence and has two gated entrances that are locked at night to keep people out. The Darkness can be noted to be thicker near the center of the Cemetery at night.
The front office is just inside the first gate, and the groundskeeper's well-Darkness-proofed home is just inside the second gate. The grounds are kept lovely with green grass, massive old trees, sandy gravel pathways, and one paved road that's shaped in a circle to match the shape of the cemetery. Some parts of the cemetery are older than others, and there are a few large stone walls made to house cremated individuals and cover cremated remains that are buried underground.
* Jobs can be found here in very short supply. Maintenance workers only, at the moment, for lawn and stone care, to dig holes, or prepare for services.
Better Afterlife Mortuary
Because, as morbid as it sounds, everyone dies at some point, the locals rely on the City's one and only mortuary service for their every afterlife need. Cremation, caskets, handling of their loved ones' bodies, preparations, life insurance, purchase of plots and headstones and so on - let Better Afterlife Mortuary take care of everything in this time of despair.
The company caters to many types of rituals for death, as the City is a very culturally diverse place. Burial, cremation, mummification, pyre burnings, as well as viking funerals are just a few of the services they are able to perform. If you have a strange death ritual, this mortuary will be more than willing to learn how to carry it out properly.
* Jobs can be found here for people of different religious backgrounds and experiences. They need people to do corpse work, funeral planning, and other jobs. Pay is negotiable.
St. Teresa's Sanitarium
St. Teresa's has been a working sanitarium for many years now. It has gone under several different ownerships and different names over time - Everwood Asylum, Siren Asylum, Our Lady of Providence Rehabilitation Clinic, Redgrave Facility for the Clinically Insane, and Mort's Loony Bin (the latter being only for two months until it went under new management). The current owners felt that "sanitarium" sounded much more reassuring than crude words like "Asylum" and "Clinic."
It is a low-level medical facility for the mentally insane as well as the criminally insane. Two wards are set up for each of these categories, though the criminally insane patients are kept in underground levels and are guarded much more heavily.
The building is made of thick grey stonework and has a large stone and iron fence all the way around it. Security is quite high, though there is a lovely lawn for patients to relax and have visitors if permitted. Patients can also voluntarily check themselves into these facilities for either rehab or temporary mental breakdowns.
* Jobs can be found here for nurses, counselors, and orderlies. Guards are wanted with powerful or nulling abilities. Pay varies, as do hours, depending on the position. Workers are needed at all times.
Greene Star Retirement Home
Mr. Greene is a vampire of considerable age - sadly, he was bitten at the tragic age of 93, and is known to be a crochety old gentleman with a bitter attitude towards nearly everyone. Finding eternal life to be a bit lonely after some time, he opened up his large manor to become the first retirement home in Siren's Port. Since it first opened there have been many additions, remodels, and expansions. The retirement home now comes in several stages of habitation for people at various levels of their golden years. From elderly people needing medical treatment to older people who were simply placed in a home by children who didn't want to take care of her anymore. As long as you are 65 years or older, you can find an affordable home here.
Homes here are cheap and in many cases covered by insurance. There is a small medical clinic inside its walls as well as a taxi van service to take the elderly to other appointments and for entertainment. The retirement home has various clubs and easygoing sports such as lawn bowling and badminton. The place has the feeling of a relaxing living space with a good, clean atmosphere.
* Jobs can be found here for caregivers, security, maintenance, clerical duties, and a number of other things. Pay depends on position, but is negotiable. There is no tolerance for disrespect to the patrons. Hours are available for all parts of the day and night.
McKinley Zoo
The McKinley Zoo was started a few decades ago by a man named Walter McKinley, who started the zoo with his own private collection of exotic creatures he had gathered from the black market and other locations. The zoo started out with an old circus bear, two zebras, one lion, and a green-skinned furless monkey. Over the years, it has expanded via donations and other collected creatures.
The zoo is not affiliated with AGI or SERO in any way other than through monetary or animal donations. Walter McKinley is known to oppose the abuse of animals and animal testing in every form and finds both factions as guilty of abusing animals in one way or another. His zoo is the height of technology for habitats, care, and animal health and sanity. It is also highly secure and guarded 24/7.
The zoo has a large number of normal animals, most of which are displayed in large habitats in the open, but are herded in and brought nightly to heavily Darkness-proofed paddocks and homes. There is a large reptile room underground that holds over 4,000 types of spider, snake, lizard, toad, frog, and two types of very small dragon.
Some odd animals would be the zebra of different colours - its stripes are solid black, but the "white" tends to change colour with the weather (blue, purple, red, orange, yellow, and green have been recorded). There are 12 large albino creatures (not counting reptiles) - one male lion, elephant, gorilla, hippo, two tigers, and six monkeys.
The original circus bear is the mascot of the zoo, a friendly looking brown bare named Jimbo wearing an orange fez hat and a small orange and purple vest. He rides a unicycle and has been known to juggle. The bear is in his 50s now, and still alive and cycling, though his age is apparent through the greying at his muzzle and fur. Jimbo's story is that he was purchased from a group of gypsies in Peru and imported to be McKinley's pet, but soon became part of his family and eventually helped McKinley start the zoo. The logo above the gates and on all zoo merchandise is a head shot of Jimbo smiling and holding up a sign with his paws that says McKinley Zoo.
Admission prices are $12 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for children 4 and under. Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, prices drop to 50% off. Donations to help with the care of the creatures can be left at the shops or at the front gates. Tickets to the zoo also grant passage to the underground tunnel that leads to the McKinley Aquarium (more information below).
Zoo Hours:
The zoo opens one hour after morning sirens.
The zoo closes at 4 pm, to give workers time to secure the animals for the night.
* Jobs can be found here for those with talents concerning animals, or a passion to work with them. Caretakers, security, ticket takers, shop workers and vendors, and janitorial workers are always needed. Pay will vary depending on the job - anywhere from minimum wage to a higher pay. If an applicant is going to be working with animals, they must pass a background check and endure a probationary period. Security positions are needed for all day. All workers are hand-picked by Mr. McKinley or his son Rodger McKinley.
McKinley Aquarium
Like the zoo, the local aquarium was founded by Walter McKinley. Built almost a decade ago, the aquarium is a much smaller facility funded by the support of donations both monetary and animal. The aquarium features strange fish in large habitat aquariums, a deep water exhibit where you can walk into a black tunnel on a path to peek on strange angular and glowing fish, and a shark tank with underwater tubes as well.
The aquarium is located at the edge of sector 5, near the water. Other than the exhibits and habitats, there is also a moon pool, an open view of the reef around the island, and a large show pool where the main attractions - Orinoco the Orca and dolphins Zimblee and Jax - perform tricks twice a day for attendants.
Admission prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for children 4 and under. For $4 on the price of adult admissions, your party may use the connecting underground tunnel to the McKinley Zoo. Donations to help care for the creatures and maintain the habitats can be left at the shops or front gates.
Aquarium Hours:
The aquarium opens one hour after morning sirens.
The aquarium closes at 5 pm, to give workers time to secure the park for the night.

Grand Lenore Auction House
Grand Lenore Auction House - the most well-known and oldest auction house in Siren's Port, it is AGI-affiliated and centered in sector 1. This auction house is as high-class as one can get, with a large auditorium with slanted rows of seats that face a large stage. Three hours before auctions are to start, all the slaves are set up in special cages, rooms, and display halls, so prospective buyers can look over the merchandise and decide if it's worth the bid. Those selling their slaves, or their assistants, are to be there at that time to show off official documents and answer questions about temperament, powers, history, and so on.
The slaves to be auctioned off are walked out on stage for show, described, and then sold to the highest bidders. Generally, every auction has at least one "High Point Auction," which is the last to be sold off, and the one expected to bring in the most money. These sales are the best of the best at the time and can include exotics, aliens, 'mythological creatures,' or slaves with special talents or powers.
All sales are final and must be paid for upfront in cash before leaving. It does not tend to go well for a person who can't pay for their won bid, and it's highly advised that people do not try to "pull a fast one." This auction house has a strict policy that if you bid and win an auction you cannot afford to pay, then you become the next day's sale. This ensures that only serious bidders are in attendance.
This house requires bidders to sign in and take a numbered paddle to raise while the auction is running. Only those with a numbered paddle are considered when bids are taken. No paddle, no bid. When paying for your won bid or bids, you turn in your paddle and you are logged down for your purchase, then paperwork is turned over and signed to officially make the slave yours.
Well-known slave trader Jonathan Riggs seems to sell his slaves at this house exclusively, but his slaves are also considered the best on the market, always proving to be well-trained and highly exotic. His paperwork is highly respected and his merchandise is always clearly labeled so prospective buyers know what they are looking for and receiving. he answers all questions fully at the three-hour sessions he hosts before auctions, and is always upfront and honest. He's considered the top sales expert on the market.
* Jobs may be found here, but please talk to a mod first.
Zipz Arcade
Zipz Technotainment Arcade is SERO's latest answer to Afterglow's hold on the island's entertainment industry. Recently opened this winter, this 7-story complex has been in development for several years. From the outside, it's a piece of bright neon eye-candy among well kept government buildings and testing facilities. On the inside, it's an overstimulating gamer geek's paradise. Zipz boasts three floors of traditional arcade games, a full-range virtual reality experience, a fleet of Battle-Mech simulation pods, a robotics brawling ring, an anti-gravity floor, Blacklite Lounge & Dance Club, a high-speed cybercafe, and Siren's Port's one and only, sprawling 12,000 sq. foot underground Laser Tag arena.
This arcade is open 24 hours, and doesn't run on your traditional tokens. Upon entry, all gamers receive a plastic identification card on a lanyard, which can be set up with a codename to store all saved game history and personal high scores within the system's databanks. SERO posts high score lists regularly on its network, to promote competition and bragging rights. These cards can be kept for returning visits, and loaded up with a debit line to purchase game credits and snacks. Credits can also be transferable between users, so gamers will often play against one another for game credits. Prizes and special offers are also often advanced onto the electronic system.
* Part-Time positions may be found here, mostly to maintain the arcade, but also concessions staff & security. Those with computer & mechanical skills are prized, and working here means working for SERO.
The Milton, Redcliff, and Longfellow Museums
Henry Milton Technology Museum: Originally found in sector 2, but moved last into this triad of museums, this museum was founded by Henry Milton, who was known as one of the top scientific minds in his decade. He found and supported the great minds of the City, pushing the younger generations into technological advances. Some of the greatest new concepts known throughout the past few decades in the outside world were actually founded here in Siren's Port, and their true histories are proudly displayed in the Tech Museum. The museum has displays from the early years of technology, and a clear tour path is established, walking patrons from the early years to the current developments, showing the progressing history of Siren's Port's technology.
Charles Redcliff Art Museum: Originally found in sector 1, but moved near the natural museum after a fire threatened to take out the building and all the work housed there. Charles Redcliff was a known collector of art, with a very impressive collection that eventually became so vast that it had to be packed in storage over the years. He had pieces by Rembrandt, Picasso, Dali, da Vinci, Bernini, Donatello, Michaelangelo, Bartolini, and Sezan, among other artists known in the outside world, as well as many pieces from the City's artists. His pieces included paintings, sculptures, junk art, and large murals, and these pieces can now be found in the Art Museum, along with other rarer and more complex forms of art.
Chester Longfellow Natural Museum: The Chester Longfellow Natural Museum is the only one of the triad of museums that was not moved from its original location. This museum was founded in sector 3 and run by the Longfellow brothers, three siblings with the same interest - to gather information on the world's natural discoveries. The museum was named after the eldest of these three brothers. The largest of the three collective museums, it holds historical facts, information, and exhibits on the earth's history as well as the City's natural history. Dioramas with stuffed and animatronic animals in their 'natural' settings, tribal people from various cultures, war histories, astronomy, and biology are all displayed here in long, sprawling exhibit halls. There is even a planetarium with 30 minute shows 6 times a day in the center of the building, costing only $2 on top of the admission fee.
* Jobs can be found here for curators, tour guides, sales representatives, and janitorial staff. Reasonable to minimum wage pay.
Spencer's Hunting GroundsThere is only one place in all of the City and island where hunting is legal, and that is Spencer's Hunting Grounds. The grounds are a fairly nice sized plot of land that has been built up for various types of hunting for sport, and caters to both casual and big game hunters. Spencer's Hunting Grounds are located in sector 6, and are a well-known and fairly respected hunting ground, rumored to be backed by AGI with occasional SERO support.
The entrance to the grounds is a massive gate with no logo or name stated, and within the gate there is a long, wide gravel drive leading to a rather run-down home, though it's fairly large and made of stone. This is the home of Henry D. Spencer III, also known as The Hunter. In his home, there are stuffed trophies of every animal imaginable, and a story to go along with each. There is no game too large or too wild for this man. Because the sport of hunting has become so simple for him, he has found that opening up the hunt for others can be just as interesting.
It's pricey, but a person can come to his place or order over the internet a vast amount of creatures (including humans) to hunt. If it's something he has in stock, the hunt will happen faster, if he has to make an order, it could take months or years, depending. Human hunts or slave hunts have been known to happen from time to time, and are considered legal as long as the slaves are part of his property. These hunts generally take the lives of the slave, though sometimes they do come out mostly alive.
The grounds are a multi-level, surprisingly sprawling bit of land consisting of fields, trees, hillsides, man made canyons, underground tunnels, caves, a small man made underground lake, and many traps, wild settings, and interesting locations. A person or animal could get lost in the underground world the man has created for fun. Weapons can be found scattered all over the grounds to give the 'hunt' a chance to fight back and make it more interesting for the hunters, should the game be capable of using weapons. All underground room s are either steel or rock-lined and cannot be escaped from by normal means. The upper hunting grounds have tall electric fences to keep animals in and activists out.
Hunts are by appointment only. Advertisements may offer deals or, in some cases, the need for a few more hunters before the hunt can be found.
* Jobs cannot be found here. Only a certain type of character could find a job here under exceptional circumstances. Please speak to a mod for information.
Siren's Port Penitentiary
Each police station has a jail, some that hold many prisoners and some that only hold a few. The rest of the hardened criminals who get longer sentences, or life, are sent to the city Penitentiary. It is a single building with a long dangerous fence around it, guarded so heavily with not only “Voids” but other super powered people who pass extreme background tests. The facilities are hard, harsh and extremely hard to get out of. There have been a few prison breaks but most of those were because of natural disasters.
To win a stay here means you have been found guilty of murder or extreme crimes against humanity.
* NO JOBS found here. Ever. Newcomers would not be able to pass the test to guard here no matter what.
Knot-A Fight Club
Albert Knot started the fight club about four years ago from a very simple need to clear up a dispute between two employees. Other employees placed bets and gathered around for the boxing battle, fighting until one called it quits. The winning fighter won his side of the argument, and those who came to see either went home with full pockets or wandered off nearly shirtless.
Seeing the success and lucrative business this brought, Knot started his own fight club. A little dirty building in the industrial area, fights are both scheduled and unscheduled here. You can see a list of upcoming matches as well as show up any time you want and step into the ring. Bets are placed and booked, money exchanged.
Fighters enter the ring at their own risk. There are two types of matches. Powered and Non-powered. The non-powered matches are bigger attractions then those with powers. Anyone may enter, but fighters have to sign a waiver that the facility is not responsible for any dearth or injury.
Knot-A Fight Club also has a sister club called Knot-T Fight Club which is right next door, connected with a underground passage. This club is made more for specialized fights. Mud, Jell-o, water, oil and other absurd style of fighting are found here, mostly between ladies in skimpy costumes or white t-shirts fight here.
The club has only just stated to gain city wide popularity and has been expanding it’s site slowly.
* Jobs can be found here for bookies and guards. Pay is so-so but you can place your own bets for an extra boot in funds.
Keelson Auctionhouse
Keelson Auctions work much like Grand Lenore Auctions, but are considered a bit lower class. The slaves brought here aren’t as nice as those at the other houses and don’t bring as big of a price, but it’s also easier to get slaves here, and get them in masses. They are known to get “mysterious” shipments of slaves for sale. They are also well known for selling to SERO for ‘unmentionable’ reasons, though these sales tend to be behind closed doors and on the black market.
The house is a bit rundown, seedy but well-guarded. It is found in the Industrial Sector and doesn’t have as strict rules as other auctionhouses. You may sign in and take up a paddle but other bidders may make simple and gestures to show interest. As with most auction houses you must pay up front cash or other high quality valuables for your won bids. If you are unable to make the full payment you leave what you have on you and are given two days to get the rest of the money plus a 5% interest for each day added to it. If you fail to return to make your payment then your won auction is placed back on for sale and the money you left before is kept and not returned.
The slaves in this house are kept behind curtains beside the stage or left in cages and display stands, open for the general public to look over at their leisure before and between auctions. Guards are stationed near the cages to keep an eye on things. Those selling their merchandise are not forced to stay and display their slaves but leave it to the house to agree that the paper work is in good standing and legal order. It is well known that some places like this mock up their own documents that are not legal but the paperwork looks authentic and would pass a judge's rule.
Caregood Pound
There is only one animal pound in Siren's Port, and it is found in lower sector 4. It holds up to 300 animals, generally of the feline and canine verity. The pound is also the city's main Animal Control facility. Adopting animals from the pound is easy and encouraged! A small fee for the spaying or neutering of the chosen animal as well as shots are required. After operations and shots are given a person may take their pet home. Pets are segregated in a few categories: Canine, Feline, Abnormal canine, Abnormal feline, and Other. Other generally comes down to goats, horses and other four-legged farm like animals that find their way into the pound for one reason or another. Tempermental exotics that have become too difficult for their owners to handle are often donated to the Zoo.
*Jobs can be found here for those who have powers over animals. Vets, clerks and care taker positions are open for those who are desperate enough to clean stalls, cages and stables. Pay is general and according to job type.
Main Radio Tower
The main radio tower is found on a very tall building with an even taller antenna attached. It is located in the 4th sector, very nearly at the exact center of the city. The radio tower is both the main radio and television stations' signal tower. Over 7 broadcasting stations are officed in this octagonal building. Newspapers are also printed and distributed from within this complex. Even on foggy days, the blinking red light at the top of this tower can be seen by anyone on the eastern side of the island, looking towards downtown.
Siren's Port Library: Central Branch
Found in sector 3, Siren's Port Library's Central Branch is a large, four-story red brick building coated in ivy with arched, tall windows and wide steps leading up to two thick oak doors. The original building, while being quite old-looking, has been expanded in the form of a much newer section added at the back. Both parts of the Library and have four basement levels containing archives, newspapers, recorded information, history, magic books, storybooks, research books and manuals, and a rather good DVD section containing many documentaries on the City and educational movies.
You have to apply for a library card to borrow books here, which is free of charge unless you rack up late fees. Like any normal library, most books can be borrowed, but some need to stay in the Library. In order to go into the archives or study the ancient books that have remained in the Library, you must pay a fee and can only read them under surveillance in designated areas.
* Jobs can be found at the main Library or any of the smaller sub-branches. Positions are filing, records, maintenance, clerk, librarian, and other positions. Pay is slightly above minimum but hours are limited to daytime only.
Independent News Source
An outside smaller news station and radio tower, home to a burgeoning independent news, music and TV production industry. It can't quite compete with AGI's cutting edge media, and is mostly run by city activists and alumnai from SPU. They broadcast on a much lower power signal and with limited budget, but it's much easier for newcomers to find jobs here. The newsfeed's Food Critic works out of here.
* Jobs can be found in print, radio and televisions news reporting, editing, and other media tech.
SP Postal Service: Main Center
All paper mailings and package delivery not handled by private couriers go through here.
* Jobs can be found as postal carriers and mail sorters.
Gibson Boat Rentals
No one really cares much to sail the seas around the island, but in the last year a boat rental place has opened up in the northernmost reaches of the island, specializing in tours that circumnavigate the island. There is a large amount of boat types though none of them will take you farther away then a few miles from shore. Any boats with motors taken from here will stall and lock a few miles out, once an on-board monitor senses the limitations of the Pull, and are remote-controlled to bring them back towards safe harbor. This device is set to assure the owners of the Gibson Boat rentals that their boats, even if the idiots taking them to their death was lost at sea, will be returned.
*Jobs can be found here for minimum wages for boat captains, maintenance and office rental work.
Dead Horse Cove
Don’t let the name get you down. The cove is lovely sandy beaches and clear waters by day. It’s fairly safe to swim in, unless local teen brats have been chucking beer bottles into the waters. Bonfires are found here often in the evenings before the sirens go off, though one would be wise not to hang around after dark. It’s said that a strange tentacle monster of Darkness origins can be found once in a while, floating around and playing on shore. It’s beautiful by day and horrifying by night.
Skye Medical Center
Found in sector 4, Skye Medical Center is the second-largest hospital in the City, and the one most open to taking anyone, everyone and anything for treatment, and people of any class from slum kids to nobility can walk in here and be seen. Because of this, though, it does seem to take longer to be seen and treated, but the founder of the hospital so long ago has always had a complete open door policy. This center also has the top of the line pediatrics center in it, as well as a high class maternity ward. Most middle and lower class people will be taken here by ambulance instead of other places. Skye Medical Center is also open at all times, including during the Darkness.
More information about Medical Services in Siren's Port can be found here:
HERE SERO Hospital and Labs
Obviously, this is a hospital and lab facility funded by and run by SERO. The building seems relatively low-profile on the outside, but underground, one can find a sprawling world of secret labs and chambers for testing. Above ground, there are normal hospital facilities, available at no charge and all carried out professionally and with skill. It's a training facility, so patients generally come here at their own risk and must sign a waiver form. If you have a unique health problem or injury and come here to let them work on you, there is a slight chance that you will be paid for your time in their medical procedures. However, not every person will have a good time here, since it's said that subjects are brought here to be tested, their powers, mutations, or abilities analyzed. Occasionally, a walk-in patient may simply disappear without a trace. SERO Labs is also open at all times, including during the Darkness.
More information about Medical Services in Siren's Port can be found here:
HERE Siren's Port General Hospital
Anyone and everyone can walk into this hospital for treatment. Since SPGH is located in sector 3, if you're injured while in the first three major sectors, you might end up here, and all underground accidents will be routed to SPGH. It's also common practice for more 'important' or high-income people to be sent to SPGH. This hospital is also known to have the best rehab program in the City, and is open at all times, including during the Darkness.
