My acceptance letter just came in. I'm going to UT Austin, you guys!

This must be the ultimate irony; I got a papercut on the envelope. I hope it's not a bad omen.

I am a National Hispanic Merit Scholar!!!

This means I get a $12,000 scholarship from UT over the course of four years!

The Bird, who is nearly 6 years old, was always very camerashy. I haven't attempted to photograph her in several years because the noise/flash/actual camera itself would send her in a fluttering frenzy. In her "old age" she's become a lot more personable and a lot more fearless, so I tried again to take her picture, and look at the results!

I got a 1910 on the SAT! That's about all I know at this point, but yee-hee!
