Green Room - Week 2 - Day 2

Feb 15, 2022 12:23

In the course of human events, sometimes I get things wrong. But, being Idol, I was not ACTUALLY wrong. Reality was wrong and/or I was looking at something taking place in the multiverse and just was talking about something that happened over there ( Read more... )

Frist!?

Apparently yes. Is the Frist postcard club still a thing? I want one.

Things are... heh. Well. Chicken ownership continues to be a shockingly chaotic ride. One of the two of our girls is hanging out in the garage until further notice due to a wing droop. Gonna get stuff to vet wrap it tonight but I'm still anxious. Bleh. Still got nothin' on the topic but I'm planning to poke at it tomorrow, maybe?

How many chickens do you own?

Just the two girls at the moment - Julia Child and Dr. Pepper. We started out with four during spring of last year, but one got wry neck and had to be put down shortly after we got her, and one dropped dead completely mysteriously over the summer. And I'm pretty sure the wing droop on Julia is due to the fact that Dr. Pepper is being an absolute turdbucket to Julia because she's in lay, despite the fact that she's been top hen for months. We tried to vet wrap her wing last night but apparently didn't wrap it tight enough and she immediately got her feet tangled up and flopped around her crate like a very sad, sentient football until we figured out what the problem was. So we unwrapped her and I'm going to call her vet today to see if they have any other ideas while we wait for her appointment in early March.

Still contemplating the topic; I have a germ of an idea, hoping it will pan out.

Hubby and I celebrated your anniversary at the Olive Garden, then came home and watched a few episodes of Chuck. It’s such a fun series - we watched it ages ago (when it was originally on) and are rewatching it. We are in season 3 (of 5).

Man, this topic is intimidating. I have the beginnings of an idea, but it's fiction, and somehow that feels like a cop-out. It's a topic that asks for deep honesty, to me.

I am glad that you had a great anniversary! And that you saw cool animals! Even gators. I like gators.

Express deep honesty with fiction! You’ve got this! (I typed as I was trying to figure out how to do the same thing.)

Some of the deepest truths I have ever read were fiction

Hi all. Gary, your anniversary sounded fun! I celebrated by gettting take out from a local restaurant and going to our favorite diner in Vermont. Other than that I didn't do a lot of celebrating. I did watch the Puppy Bowl this weekend which made me happy!

I like the puppy bowl. Snoop dog is everywhere! I was disappointed to see that the hallmark channel cancelled the Kitten bowl. next year another channel is supposed to have a Rescue Bowl featuring all types of rescue animals for adoption not just puppies and kittens.

They used to have the senior bowl where older dogs were featured. I didn't see it this year.

Happy anniversary! Sounds like a fun time. I celebrated your anniversary with an ultrasound followed by pretty pastries and Indian food.

As far as writing goes, I had an idea… then I got another idea… but I’m not sure if either would be that interesting. Then again, I’ve decided to not stress too much this season and just write whatever I feel compelled to write so we’ll see.

We *also* had Indian food, so you got at least part of it right!

Good choice on that front. You can never go wrong with Indian food!

Indian food on February 14th had become a longstanding tradition for me when I was with my ex-husband. That was actually the only major tradition we made and kept for ourselves over the years. Kinda sad that that's one of the few things I remember enjoying with him.
