I respect this decision. It’s one I’ve been battling myself. I have a Dreamwidth but I’m not as comfortable with the site (as in, using it not ethically). I’m not sure what this means for me, but at the same time, I wasn’t sure my future in this season anyway. I just find the mobile version of Dreamwidth is harder for me to use and I am almost always on my phone when reading/commenting. I wish there were a better alternative, but alas… this is the right choice though.

Is there a way I can get notifications when you post to Idol over on Dreamwidth? Because that’s usually the only way I know to check this space here, is when I get an email that you’ve posted.

You can get notifications on Dreamwidth the same as LJ. You’ll have to log in with your DW account but once you do, just hit the little yellow bell looking icon on any post in the Idol comm (it should be right above where you click to comment). A little box should pop up and you can select to get emails every time Gary posts.

Thank you. I had to do it another way but I hope it works. It wants to send it to my DW messages which I’ll never check lol but I selected also to email me. Hopefully it works and I can get the hang of DW.

So for those of us who don’t have a DW account, are we allowed to post here and link it there, or do I need to start up a DW account?

Also, can we please at least finish up this week and do the poll here? I think changing over mid-week would be frustrating.

You can post your entry from any Open Source site you like, including LJ.

I've already switched over the coding for the poll. The mid-week aspect is why I extended the deadline. Because I know there were a lot of people struggling with the idea of staying here.

Well done! Whatever LJ has over DW isn't worth it. I had so much hope for the former Soviet Union 30 years ago, but that died a long time ago. The Russian people have always deserved better.
