I agree that people seem to think it is only a little bit illegal, which is kind of annoying. I also think that most pot smokers are losers and don't stay occassional smokers for long. However, I do know at least 1 person who has been and still is just an occassional smoker and that is my older sister. She is not addicted and nor does she do anything heavier. She doesn't lack motivation and is going to school to become a nurse and her house has always been nothing but clean and tidy. I don't see her ever becoming a loser either. And she is definitely the hippy, music festival type.

Aww nuts, and I was going to bake you some special brownies this weekend! :)

...okay please don't kill me, I am only joking. The truth is I ate all the special brownies when I got the munchies last night.

Welcome back to LJ, it's been too long since you've written an entry!

Wow. That is one of the most compelling arguments I've ever seen on this issue. Wish I'd had it on hand for those who'd say "Well, it's not so bad, it just helps you mellow out" or somesuch. I don't think any mind-altering drug is a good idea, but I can't always articulate WHY it's not a good idea. Unfortunately for those who think it is, legality is the least of their concerns. No amount of arguing is likely to change their minds. I just know that what I can affect is myself - and I know it wouldn't help me any to sacrifice self-control to some drug. My friends are surprised when I tell them I won't ever try alcohol again, even a sip - but I know it is best. At least they do respect my preferences.

Oh, and hi again! Don't worry, I haven't forgotten you. :)
