Title: The Pink Sweater (4/4)
Pairing: Yoochun/Changmin
Rating: PG-13
Genre: High school fic (this is a genre, I swear)
A/N: This is part A.
Summary: How was Yoochun supposed to know returning the disgusting pink sweater would lead to Shim Changmin thinking he had the hots for him, and that it would come true?
Sitting in his seat, Yoochun felt skittish. He wanted to see Changmin, but he also wanted to run away from everyone. For some reason, admitting to Junsu that he liked Changmin made him unbearably uncomfortable.
Turning to him, he whispered fiercely, “You cannot tell a single fucking soul.”
Junsu simply grinned mischievously in response. More than slightly panicked, Yoochun turned to fully face his best friend, "Listen to me, you stupid fucker, if you tell anyone about this, I'll disown your ass. This is important to me, okay? I...I'm not ready to be well...what's the word...?"
Junsu laughed, "I think you mean you don't want to be outed yet."
Yoochun blinked twice. He opened his mouth, and closed it. He repeated the action, and Junsu almost felt sorry for bringing the phrase up.
"Look, there's nothing wrong with liking guys, alright? It doesn't matter if you come out today or in 50 years. Well, maybe not, because if you come out after that long, Changmin may not be around, and you'll have lost the love of your life and then you'll fall into a pit of depression and possibly kill yourself."
Yoochun frowned, "I'm not coming out. I'm not gay. The only guy I've ever liked was Changmin, so I'm not gay. I'm like pain-in-the-ass-cockblocker-brother-sexual or something."
"So you've gotten hard over every girl's brother who would prevent you from going out with her?"
"Yes. Mainly because he was the first."
"Wait, what? How is it possible that not one of those girls' brothers has come after you?"
Shrugging, Yoochun seemed slightly baffled too, "Well, the one-night stands, I never met their brothers, and for the 'long-time' ones, they either didn't have a brother, their brother didn't care or I became friends with their brother and it didn't matter."
Junsu seemed impressed, "Did you actually plan out being friends with them?"
"No. I'd find out they had a brother, and we tended to click. It's bizarre."
Junsu grinned, "Hey, maybe you had magically wooed them with the same charm that had gotten their sisters into a mess like you. Only now, the opposite sort of happened. Changmin managed to disrupt your sex drive and used his snark to serenade you in the most violent way possible."
"Okay, seriously? I have got to prevent you from reading any more of those flowery-shit type books. It's suffocating me, you and your insinuations and plot twists. I am not some sick fantasy, okay?"
Junsu nodded seriously, "Of course not! My fantasy would be built, unlike you. He'd probably have a tan too."
Yoochun shuddered, "I will now try to get that image out of my head. I really hate you."
Junsu grinned, and the bell rang right in time to prevent Yoochun from strangling the cheeky boy. Waving Junsu away, Yoochun walked to his math class. Here, he was greeted by Jaejoong.
"Soooo...how was Changmin?"
"I'm gonna slaughter Junsu. How is it possible for him to tell you this quickly?"
"We were chatting online. You know, what normal people do. I never will get why you don't use the computer."
Yoochun grinned, "Well, you see, I'm usually too busy."
Jae snorted, "Don't you mean that instead of a casual internet booty call, you prefer the hunt. I swear, you're like a fucking torpedo. Once you lock on, there's no getting out of it...except, of course, in this one instance where big brother managed to save his sister."
Jaejoong was grinning at him, all too clear about what he was thinking.
"Shut the hell up. I lost interest in her, alright? If I really wanted her, I coulda gotten her."
Jae sobered up and stared at Yoochun, "Don't try to bullshit me. You'd usually like it if a girl was hard-to-get or innocent. Come off it and tell me."
"The only thing that happened was what Junsu told you."
"He told me that you took Changmin home. While pretty much running on E. Did your car break down?"
Yoochun growled, "Fucking Junsu didn't even bother to tell me I was low on gas...yeah. It did. We were stuck for a couple hours, about 5 miles from his house."
Jae smirked, "Ohh, I get it. Neither of you are dead, so you obviously kissed and made up. So, you starting to get a thing for perfectionists? I heard he has a pretty clean reputation, enough for me to be suspicious."
"I don't - fuck, just because we didn't kill each other doesn't mean we get along."
Jae shrugged, "That's the only way, I figured. He was pissy about you dating Sooyeon before, why not now? Maybe because you're friends?"
Yoochun sighed, "Okay, maybe we get along. Stop making such a big deal out of it."
"I have a feeling something else is going on. I'm gonna ask Junsu during lunch, then."
Yoochun nodded, not paying attention to Jaejoong any longer. Instead, he started listening to the teacher explain equations and what buttons to press on the huge, complex calculators. As the teacher started passing out papers, Jae scooted closer to Yoochun.
"Hey...come on, babe. You know I was kiddin', right? Please don't leave me alone with this packet, you know I don't pay attention!"
Hiding his smile with a strategically placed hand, Yoochun turned to look at Yunho who was seated quietly next to him.
"Yunho, do you understand this problem? I was hoping you could help me..."
Now with an excuse, Yoochun was able to completely ignore Jaejoong's whines and complaints. Yunho looked at Yoochun with a wry smile.
"So, what's Jae bothering you about?"
Shifting uncomfortably, Yoochun looked away, "Nothing, really. Just about how I had to drive Changmin home yesterday thanks to that idiot Junsu."
Laughing, Yunho nodded, "Yeah, Junsu was telling me about it online. But you both came out alive, right?"
Yoochun nodded slowly, "Yeah...actually, we ended up coming out as more than just alive."
Yunho raised a delicate eyebrow, "Oh? What, are you two...together now?"
"What? No! What the fuck?"
Yunho blushed and started stuttering, "O-oh, I'm s-sorry! I just thought...I mean, you seemed happy! And I assumed it was because something like that happened."
"Yeah, I guess I can't blame you. We sorta became friends, from this bizarre turn of events. He's a really cool guy, so it was a pleasant surprise and I'm pretty happy we're not out to get each other anymore."
"I'm glad things worked out, then."
As Yoochun was about to reply, something pulled him backwards, nearly causing him to fall out of his seat. Cursing loudly, he turned to face the angry and recently violent Jaejoong.
"What the fuck! You admit to Yunho what went on, but you didn't want to tell me, one of your best friends?!"
Sighing miserably, Yoochun shook his head, "Obviously Yunho doesn't try to annoy the shit out of me, unlike you. And he's a lot more polite, because for one, he doesn't listen to other people's conversations."
Jae rolled his eyes and huffed dramatically, "Look, I wanted to know, alright? I knew you'd likely throw in some more details when talking to other people, so can you really blame me?"
"Yes, I can. Easily."
Instead of arguing, Jae decided to follow Yoochun's lead and ignore him, using Yunho as a shield of sorts. This went on for the rest of the period, and when the bell rang, Jae stuck his tongue out and told Yoochun he'd see him at lunch.
Walking with Yunho to his next period, Yoochun went through nearly the same situation with Heechul in his history class. The next two classes blurred together, and it mostly involved Yoochun falling asleep, waking up for the next class, and falling asleep again.
Lunch eventually came, and Yoochun was all too glad to see Junsu, who despite his teasing, wasn't buggering him about what had happened the previous night. This had obviously led everyone to start bothering him to tell them what had happened.
Junsu had done good in the beginning, not even opening his mouth to speak, but a little less than halfway through, he started to get irritated and impatient.
"Hey, do you really want to suffer through this? I mean, eventually it's all gonna come out, so you might as well tell them."
At this, Heechul and Jae's eyes gleamed and they turned to grin gleefully at the boy laying flat on the lunch table. Then, they started murmuring to each other away from the group, planning the next action to best convince Yoochun to tell them what happened.
Yoochun groaned, "Dumbass. Now they know something happened. They're not going to shut up, ever."
"Well, look at it this way: if you tell them, they could help you out with the situation. They've done this before, seduction, that is."
Looking at his exceptionally attractive friends, Yoochun nodded. "I knew this. But they're so...sparkly."
Junsu looked disgruntled upon hearing that statement, "You know what I think your problem is? You're fucking homophobic. Not outwardly or anything, that's what you got us for, but internalized. You're terrified to admit it. What do you expect is going to happen, your face will suddenly be covered in eyeliner and glitter and your ass will lubricate itself?"
Yoochun colored deeply and seemed shocked, as he was unable to answer except of a single intake of breath. Jaejoong and Heechul had noticed the quiet, and had gathered around the two other boys, intrigued and a little concerned.
"So...what happened?" Jae carefully questioned.
Junsu sighed, and answered simply, "Yoochun likes Changmin. A lot."
Heechul smirked and Jaejoong clasped a hand over his mouth, trying to cover his smile and he coughed loudly.
"Well, it's about time! I always knew you liked guys, you idiot!" Heechul cackled.
Yoochun finally let out his breath and answered, "Wow. Thanks. I'm freaking out and you're completely fine."
Junsu smiled, "Well, think of it this way. At least it's all out, and you don't have to worry. We love you if you're a fag or not, and honestly, you've never tried to seduce a man before, have you?"
Blushing slightly, Yoochun shook his head. Grinning, Junsu nodded, re-affirming his suspicion.
"Well, we can help you out there. It's a little different, you can't just grope around until he bends over, you gotta have more finesse."
Heechul nodded seriously, "So far, all you've be able to hook up with are skanks."
"Fuck all of you. I don't need fucking tips, just maybe some nudging on Changmin's side."
"So you want us all to pressure Changmin into dating you?" Jae deadpanned.
Deciding it was better to give in now while he was ahead, he nodded. Jaejoong began cheering.
"Yay! We get to help Yoochun get his first boyfriend! This is fucking better than anything!"
"Even sex?" Heechul inquired suspiciously.
Jae twitched slightly, "Better than mediocre sex. Probably not better than headboard-breaking screaming hot kama sutra sex."
Junsu immediately began blinking furiously.
Yoochun smiled, "That's not gonna make the image go away, hun. Just accept it."
Junsu shivered, "Either way, can we stop talking about it? How about we go see Taemin after school?"
Heechul smirked, "That little squirt is in on this too? You sure Changmin won't just fall for his adorable face?"
"Thanks, I definitely believe Changmin would fall for such a young kid."
"Hey, you never truly know a person until you find out that they like young boys."
Yoochun looked disturbed, "That's fucked up. Don't say it, because you'll jink me and I'll end up with a pedophile."
Finally, the bell rang and saved Yoochun from another disturbing backlash from any of the guys surrounding him. He spent the next periods switching from listening to Junsu, Jaejoong and Heechul scheme and sometimes listening to what was being taught.
