About the Future of TST

Jun 12, 2011 00:28

Hello, The Sky Tides! The mods would like to thank each and every player we've had for making the game a success! That said, this post is about the future of the game. In the past, people talked about the possibility of a reboot, and recently some other players have mentioned their own continuation. Since it seems that everybody has their own ideas ( Read more... )

My opinion is that a reboot is the best way to go, especially a lot of us have wrapped up our characters' storylines in a way that they have nowhere else to go. However, I think that a reboot should also incorporate the world below in it as well.

If a continuation is decided as the way to go, it might be best to make it a private game that isn't open to the public. That said, if things are pretty evenly split, multiple games may be the solution.

Hello - not that I expect I'll have much weight here, my two cents as a new player trying to fit in kind of at the end is that a reboot would be such a huge relief. It's been hell trying to figure out how to get involved with this group (despite that everyone has been friendly and due, I am not unaware, in no small part to my own inexperience in a LiveJournal based game) simply because most of you have so much history with one another and that tends to exclude new people just by its very nature ( ... )

Um...I second the whole "everyone was friendly but it still felt kind of daunting and difficult to integrate myself and my characters into this group" sentiment. Then again, it might have been due in part to the very, very long break I had from RPing before this too... >__>;;

A-and Dean-mun! I wanted to apologize for thread-dropping so often! Sometimes it just took me so long to think of a reply that by the time I thought of it I was too embarrassed to tag. And I also wanted to say that Ryuuki's CR with Dean was half the reason I kept coming back in a time when my drive to RP at TST, due to RL issues and canon-related revelations/problems, especially Ryuuki in particular, was really, really low. AND! I have a musebox! If you don't mind the fact that I'm a fail!child whose speed at tagging sort of fluctuates at times and that I get distracted very easily all the time sometimes...

Hey, there you are! Nice to see you - I was kind of hoping to hear from you again before all this wound down. And Dean, of course, has been whining at me about losing contact with Ryuuki. Which is a feat, because Dean's not the sort that whines very often. ;)

Never be embarrassed to tag me back - I'm pretty easy to please, and pretty easygoing, and ridiculously happy just to have the opportunity for CR. So happy that you kept up the CR; Dean and I really appreciated it, too, and I adored our interaction.

Um - I don't know what a musebox is? But! I don't mind any of those things! PM me if you like, we'll continue this convo where the comment notifications don't bother people trying to figure out what to do with the game. <3

Lol, late to this like a boss.

A reboot sounds pretty good by me - fresh starts, in general, usually are. A continuation seems awkward, from what I can see - it also feels like something that is better off museboxed. Of course, I'm also of the opinion that an ended game is an ended game, but I think that's my personal bias speaking right there. If there's a demand for some sort of return, I don't see why not.

Also: I'd be willing to help out provided that I have the time. I'll be apping into some games soon, so I'll have to see how that goes before I can really say that I can stick around this time.

I'd love a continuation, and I'd probably be up for a reboot/something as well. The issue with a reboot is just that I'd probably want to play the same characters, and it'd be a bit awkward to start over with them.

On one level, at least, I think having a sort-of-continuation based in the world below might be good, because then new people could app characters who come from down there and don't need to know anything about Reial's history, which would hopefully cut out a lot of the confusion. But there are probably other factors I'm not getting.

The thought of actual modding scares me, but I could be a listmonkey or something...

I would greatly prefer a continuation, but perhaps set on the world below. I, like other people, would be interested in playing much the same characters (or at least two of my current seven-character roster) and I don't want to have to replay the same stuff I have already done to get to the same point I am currently with the ones I would want to bring back ( ... )
