Title: The Night Watch
Rating: PG13
Pairing: Kyungsoo/Jongin
Length: 1150w
Summary: set in the
Vampires In Space au
Do it for me, Baekhyun had begged him, pouting as his sharp canines sunk into the swell of his lower lip. Kyungsoo had meant to say no. Honestly, he had. But he’d been so distracted by the enticing picture in front of him that the yes slipped from him even when he knew the only reason Baekhyun was begging off the overnight watch was so he could cuddle up in the First Officer’s room, doing things that Kyungsoo doesn’t want to think about.
Kyungsoo’s usual haunt is down in engineering, keeping the ship running and constantly trying to find new ways to increase performance. Captain Kim has always encouraged the members of his crew to learn how to run other stations, expanding their skills and possibly being useful in case of emergencies. This isn’t the first time Kyungsoo’s manned the communication’s panel on the bridge. He’s comfortable with the controls now, although he’s no good at deciphering any of the languages that come through save for a measly few. Baekhyun knows them all, but Kyungsoo is still dependent on their translating functions.
He sits in the comfortable chair, only slightly put out that the bridge crew has softer furniture. Kyungsoo, however, doesn’t sit very often when he’s on duty. The ship’s engines need a caring hand to tame their personality, otherwise they’re likely to leave them stranded between galaxies.
As a werewolf, Kyungsoo doesn’t need as much sleep as the rest of the crew - at least compared to the humans. He doesn’t think Baekhyun sleeps at all; the perks of being a vampire. Now that Kyungsoo isn’t bound by the Earth’s moon, his wolf side has calmed significantly and all the energy he saves means that he can usually go several days before needing to sleep.
Behind him, Kyungsoo hears someone saunter toward his position, their gait unhurried and confident. Jongin.
Kyungsoo doesn’t get along with many people - human and supernatural alike. It’s the temper that comes with his wolf side. Jongin is one of the few who seems to appease Kyungsoo’s wild side. Jongin’s even been known to calm Kyungsoo’s wolf into a sated lull.
“Baekhyun?” Jongin purrs, coming into view. There are a pair of black feline ears perched in Jongin’s messy hair, and an equally black tail flicks behind him lazily. Jongin’s kind fall into the shapeshifter category, along with the werewolves, although they’re two completely separate species.
“Yeah,” Kyungsoo sighs, swiveling his chair to face Jongin.
Jongin’s nose is wrinkled. “I can smell him on you.” Jongin doesn’t hesitate before he’s sliding himself right into Kyungsoo’s lap, face pressed to Kyungsoo’s neck. He’s always been territorial, but more now that Kyungsoo has allowed Jongin to seduce him into some sort of romantic relationship. It’s quite common for Jongin to complain of the other scents that cling to Kyungsoo’s skin and he’ll spend however long it takes to cover them all with his own. Kyungsoo will never admit it, but he enjoys the attention and the closeness of the feline.
The pair are interrupted by the doors opening in the background. Jongin doesn’t stop, his tongue flicking possessively over the lobe of Kyungsoo’s ear. He’s purring and Kyungsoo could melt against him if it wasn’t for Lu Han shuffling his way toward the Captain’s chair. Kyungsoo raises an eyebrow as Lu Han throws himself down on the seat, head over the armrest and legs dangling.
“Can’t sleep?” Kyungsoo asks.
Lu Han lets out a groan. “Joonmyun dreams so loud sometimes,” he complains. “I tried doing laps down the hallways, but other people were worse. And don’t get me started on what Baekhyun and Chanyeol are doing. I didn’t need to be psychic to hear that.” Lu Han lifts his head suddenly and his eyes widen. “Jongin!” he calls.
Jongin pauses, looking back at Lu Han, his feline ears pointed in Lu Han’s direction. “Sir?” Jongin inquires. He’s so cute when he’s being formal. It means he’s annoyed that Lu Han has interrupted him. Kyungsoo gives his bottom a pat.
“You have one of the calmest personalities on this ship,” Lu Han begins, finally moving to sit the right way in the Captain’s chair. “Snuggle me to sleep?”
Kyungsoo doesn’t like that idea, narrowing his eyes at Lu Han. “Jongin is on duty.”
“No I’m not,” Jongin says at the same time that Lu Han says, “no he’s not.”
Jongin would look bashful if it was in him to actually be bashful. “I stayed up because I knew you’d be here, glaring holes in Baekhyun’s terminal.”
“Jongin’s booked,” Kyungsoo tells Lu Han. “I think Jongdae is on duty tonight,” Kyungsoo offers. “See if he’ll sing you to sleep.”
Under normal circumstance, asking a siren to sing is a Bad Idea, but Lu Han isn’t normal and if Jongdae sings something to put him to sleep, he’ll knock right out. Lu Han seems to be weighing the pros and cons - probably worried about how their Captain will feel if he wakes up and Lu Han’s not there - but his exhaustion seems to win the battle. He slinks out with a tired wave and a thanks.
“You’re such a good person,” Jongin coos in Kyungsoo’s ear, fingers sweeping through Kyungsoo’s hair.
“I just didn’t want him taking you from me,” Kyungsoo confesses.
Jongin chuckles. “You don’t fool me. I know all about that sweet interior that’s buried beneath your wolf.”
Kyungsoo can feel his wolf rising; Jongin’s always been good at baiting him. Kyungsoo’s eyes are yellow, his teeth a little sharper when he tugs the back of Jongin’s hair so the feline is face to face with him. Jongin’s purring goes wild and he licks his plump lips as his tail flicks behind him.
Jongin makes the most soft, addicting noises every time Kyungsoo kisses him. He’s so responsive, pressing himself fully to Kyungsoo as their kisses progress to making out. On the bridge. They could be reprimanded for this. If anyone catches them -
“Ah ha!”
Kyungsoo pulls back from Jongin’s mouth, his head a little hazy as he stares over at Baekhyun who’s just walked onto the bridge. “Weren’t you occupied for the night?” Kyungsoo snarls at the vampire, more than a little put out at the interruption.
“I was,” Baekhyun smiles. His eyes are gleaming and his hips sway as he nears his station. “And now Chanyeol is snoring like a happy puppy and I’m bored. I figured you wouldn’t mind letting me take over my post.”
There’s a biting comment on Kyungsoo’s tongue that he doesn’t get the chance to voice. Jongin is only too happy to climb off Kyungsoo’s lap and pull the werewolf up after him.
“Enjoy your evening,” Baekhyun titters, watching the pair as they scurry off the bridge.
Kyungsoo plans to do just that, tugging Jongin toward his quarters. If anyone else interrupts them, he’s going to literally bite their head off.
Title: Impressions
Rating: PG
Pairing: Luhan/Minseok
Length: 7750w
Summary: Lu Han's mother sets him up on a blind date.
Another girl walks through the door, another face that Lu Han inspects for familiarity and, upon finding her to be the wrong person again, deflates. He slouches in his seat, a cup of cooling coffee in his hands as he awaits his date. He stares into the generic, disposable container as if he'll find the meaning of his life in the swirling browns of over-priced coffee that tastes worse than the generic brand he puts in his coffee maker at home.
At the not-so-young age of twenty-eight, Lu Han has finally succumbed to his first blind date. He's rather proud that he's withstood the power of his mother's pouting for this long; she's been trying to set him up with the daughters of her friends since he was twenty. "It will give your life purpose," she used to tell him, as if Lu Han's own aspirations weren't enough.
Now that Lu Han is finally settled into himself, comfortable in his ability to provide for himself and a potential family, he's more open to the idea of dating. It's just now he's suddenly too old to remember how to go about it. Back in college, he was more of a free spirit - less about commitment and more about a good time. Men or women, Lu Han would indulge for a week, maybe two before they would go their own ways.
The bell over the door tinkles and Lu Han habitually sits up straight again, shoulders drooping when he sees the profile of a man walking toward the counter. Even in his disappointment at probably having been stood up, Lu Han watches the customer. He's attractive, short, wearing a pair of jeans that hug his thighs. There was a time in Lu Han's life when he would have gone right up to that man and offered to pay for his coffee.
Lu Han pulls his eyes away after a minute, sighing as he turns to peer outside at the people walking past the shop. It's useless getting caught up in his head when there's a real world, and a real girl who is supposed to be meeting him.
"Hello."
Lu Han startles, blinking across the small table to see that the man he'd been staring at is now sitting with him. "Hi?" Lu Han offers.
The man smiles. Lu Han gets the vaguest sense that he's drowning, taken in by a beautiful smile on an unreasonably handsome face. "I take it you don't do this often?"
Lu Han leans forward, fingers clasped around his cup. "Do what?"
"Blind dates," the guy explains, waving a hand. His other hand is resting on the outside of his cup. His coffee is steaming, several drops clinging to the lip from where he's already taken a sip.
"You - are you Minseok?"
"I am."
Lu Han had been expecting a woman. In fact, he pulls up the photo his mother had texted him and, now that he holds it up, comparing the two, he sees the resemblance. "My mother," Lu Han sighs. "She gave me this."
Lu Han shows Minseok the picture - the picture of Minseok dressed from head to toe as a female, including a long black wig.
Minseok's mouth drops open. "You thought I was a woman," Minseok breathes. "I am so sorry. I - are you even interested in men?"
Lu Han laughs at that. "I am. I just never thought my mom paid enough attention to notice. I'm sure she thinks this is hilarious."
"Well you'll have to thank her for me," Minseok says, leaning back in his chair as he brings his coffee to his lips.
"Why?" Lu Han asks, still feeling like he's playing catch-up.
Minseok swallows and holds his cup to his chest. "Because you're very hot."
Lu Han might not be the best when it comes to learning how to date, but this? This he can work with. "Then I don't feel bad admitting that I wanted to hit on you when I first noticed you coming in."
"That sounds promising," Minseok comments. "Does this mean you'll say yes if I invite you to my place for coffee?"
Lu Han peers down at the coffee in his cup that's gone cold and stands up. "Lead the way."
He doesn't feel the least bit nervous when they both throw away their drinks. He reaches over, linking Minseok's fingers with his as they head for Lu Han's car. This is probably the best first date ever. And hopefully his last.
Title: A Moment In Time
Rating: PG13
Pairing: Chanyeol/Jongin
Length: 700w
Summary: mama au - Chanyeol is always on the run.
Cookie crumbs cling to the corners of Jongin’s lips, remnants left from only minutes ago when he’d snatched the last two chocolate chip cookies off the plate before Chanyeol could react. It’s not as if Chanyeol wouldn’t have readily handed them over anyway. All Jongin has to do is pout and Chanyeol would burn cities to the ground for him. But Chanyeol also knows that Jongin would never ask that of him. He’s too soft-hearted. Even in this cruel world they live in, Jongin’s never lost that spark of hope. It glimmers inside him, giving Chanyeol the will to go on when nothing else does.
Outside these walls, the world is hunting them. One by one, Chanyeol has seen the people he’s grown closest to taken from him. Some are dead. Some are merely prisoners, kept as science experiments. They’re not human, the news feeds and headlines read. So it’s not human experimentation. It’s mutant experimentation and the world is too afraid of them to put their morality over their fear.
Chanyeol and Jongin have been running together for nearly eight months now. Jongin likes to say they’re house surfing. They find a house that’s secluded, vacant - usually someplace that’s the second or third home of a wealthy family - and Jongin teleports them inside. Chanyeol burns out the alarm systems and they live in peace for a few weeks.
The place they're in now is nice. It’s far too large, but there is a fireplace and a breathtaking view of the lake from the backyard. Chanyeol’s spent many a morning outside, watching the sun rise glisten off still waters. Out here it’s easy to imagine that this war against him and everyone like him isn’t happening. It’s easy to let his guard down, which is exactly why he can’t. He lets Jongin live in his own secure world, and Chanyeol worries for them both.
They’re going to have to leave soon. It makes Chanyeol uneasy. He shifts positions, craning his legs over the length of the couch as he rests his head back on the arm. Jongin, who was at the end, scrunches his nose at Chanyeol’s feet. He gingerly climbs out from under them and over Chanyeol. Chanyeol watches lazily as Jongin eyes him with interest. He raises an eyebrow, curious.
One of the perks of constantly moving is finding small things to take along with them when they go. The extra large sweater Chanyeol is wearing right now is one of those things. It’s too big on him, which is an impressive feat, and it’s super comfortable. Jongin seems to like it too. Chanyeol watches as Jongin lifts the front of his sweater, and dips down, wiggling himself under it. Chanyeol laughs, stunned into inaction until Jongin is pushing his head through the stretched neck, his arms curving around Chanyeol’s waist.
There are still crumbs on Jongin’s lips, and he looks soft, sleepy. Perfect. Chanyeol runs his fingers through the strands of Jongin’s hair, thumbs over his cheeks until Jongin’s eyes nearly shut.
“Kiss me,” Jongin whispers.
Chanyeol tips his head awkwardly until he can press his lips to Jongin’s. Jongin is warm. He wiggles a little more so their positioning isn’t uncomfortable. When he pulls back, there’s a stunning smile on his handsome face. Chanyeol could fall in love with a smile like that. He could fall in love with all of Jongin if the idea of knowing that Jongin will be ripped from him wasn’t so terrifying. Everyone he loves has been taken from him. If he allows himself to have this, to have Jongin, it’s an assured death sentence.
So he settles for this - settles for the moment while guarding himself from the inevitable. Perhaps he’ll get lucky and he will be the one to be taken while Jongin gets away.
Jongin tucks his face against Chanyeol’s neck and lets out a content sigh. Chanyeol wraps his arms around him. His head falls to the side and he stares out the window as Jongin falls asleep. Safe. Secure. Chanyeol can’t lose this.
If anything happens to Jongin, the world will burn. No one will survive.
Title: Crazy Kind Of Love
Rating: NC17
Pairing: Jongin/fem!Minseok
Length: 800w
Summary: set in the same abo au as
this and
this.
Theirs is a crazy forever kind of love. Jongin remembers his best friend telling him that everyone who falls in love must have a little crazy in them. Jongin hadn’t really understood until he met Minseon. Minseon is the one who brought that crazy to the surface, and it is here to stay.
Sometimes crazy means Jongin whining his way into Minseon’s arms because he’s aching to be coated in her scent, reveling in the way his alpha always understands. And sometimes crazy means Minseon glaring down another alpha who gets too close, too flirty with Jongin who is usually too oblivious to notice that he’s being hit on.
This time, however, crazy means Jongin sitting on the couch, the soft strands of Minseon’s hair curled around his fingers to keep it off her sweaty back as she rocks herself on Jongin’s dick. His free hand is on her waist, thumb pushed to the skin of her back. He watches the way her head tips, the knobs of her spine disappearing as she arches. She’s facing away from him, so he doesn’t get to see the expression of pleasure on her face, but he can feel it in the way she clenches around him, moaning his name.
The whole crazy part about this, other than this being the fourth time they’ve had sex today and it’s only two in the afternoon, is that they’re trying to have a baby. They’re not going into it blind. That’s too crazy. But they’ve talked about it at length. The only thing left to do is for Jongin to get Minseon pregnant.
Minseon sits all the way on Jongin’s cock, rotating her hips. Jongin rocks up into her, sliding his hand up her side until her breast rests in his palm. He squeezes lightly, almost teasing, before moving to her nipple. She tightens around him immediately, letting out a shuddery moan that Jongin echoes.
There is sweat trickling down Jongin’s back and he sticks uncomfortably to the upholstery. He tries his best to keep up with Minseon - with his alpha - but he’s running low on energy. He isn’t in heat, so his stamina isn’t what it usually is for having this much sex all at once. And yet the lust still controls him, urging him to snap his hips faster, listening to the smack of his thighs connecting with Minseon’s delectably plush ass with every thrust.
Her moans get louder, and Jongin tugs a little on her hair.
“Fuck, baby, just like that,” Minseon croons.
Jongin feels a rush of affection and pride mix with the arousal in his veins. He presses harder, slouching to raise his butt off the couch. Minseon’s legs are trembling, but she rests her hands on Jongin’s knees, using the leverage to fuck herself faster, harder. Jongin has the perfect view of Minseon’s ass shaking, the sweat making her skin glisten. She smells like domination, like home, and like everything Jongin has ever desired.
Jongin feels Minseon come, the pressure around his cock pulsing so wonderful that he lets out a strangled cry. Her body clamps so tight as she lifts and drops that it milks Jongin’s orgasm from him. His limbs feel like dead weight, but he doesn’t let go of Minseon. Even though it feels too hot in the room and like his head is about to float off his shoulders, he keeps his hold on his mate. She gently falls back to rest on his chest; Jongin keeps her hair held until she’s settled, finally laying it over the back of the couch so it doesn’t get stuck to her skin.
“That was amazing,” Minseon pants. Her chest is heaving, her breasts moving up and down with each heavy breath. Jongin is a little distracted by them. They’re so perfect. Everything about Minseon is perfect. Jongin slides his hand along Minseon’s stomach, letting it rest there as he pushes his nose to the side of her head. He loves filling his lungs with her scent. It washes over him, makes his instincts come to life with the urge to give all of himself to Minseon.
It’s an urge that he never fights.
Minseon turns her head, smiling at Jongin. She’s stunning, even with her face flush and sweat dotted along her hairline. Jongin kisses her softly. Minseon hums, satisfied, and Jongin kisses her again. He’ll never get enough of her lips, determined to spend the rest of his life kissing her. Minseon lets him. Jongin kisses Minseon soft and languid until they’re calm and sated, ready to take an afternoon nap right where they are.
Jongin doesn’t fight it. If they’re going to be keeping up this pace, he’s going to need all the rest he can get.
