So, I was just looking up lyrics to an Elliott Smith song, or something, honestly I forget because I am somewhat drunk right now.

Anyways, I discovered that THIRD EYE BLIND has an unreleased EP (with the lyrical version of Slow Motion and stuff like that on it, because their record label wouldn't let them put it on a regular CD) that has a song ( Read more... )

I think it was $60 or $70... which was RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. But, Silv and I were desperate, and he was going to do it the way we wanted... so paying the extra money was worth it.

But Mike has a mountain/cabin/tree scene on his wrist in color, and that was 80, I think.

It really depends on where you go and who the artist is; if I was getting something more than an outline I would have looked around and talked to a bunch of different artists. But if you're thinking of getting one, I know of an awesome WOMAN artist in Harrisonburg - I have a few friends that have gotten work done by her, and it's turned out great. And I think it's pretty cool that she's a middle-aged chubby woman that does tattoos for a living. :)

(Another reason it was so expensive despite it's small size and simplicity is just the fact that artists have to pay for everything themselves - their needles, ink, whatever... so the price includes whatever they use on you, and then the tattoo itself is added in... but I just went back and got it touched up for free and he's a good guy, so like I said, it's worth it in the end.)
