So I finally did it.  I created a sketchook on ConceptArt.org.  I've been lurking there, participating in contests every once in a while, but I haven't created an online sketchbook yet for other people to see my work.  Now, this is THE site for artists - especially concept artists, and practically everyone there has a sketchbook and I have known it ( Read more... )

By request, this is the final big project from Mod I.  A handpainted digital portrait of any person we chose.  I chose Masi Oka from Heroes.  The portrait must have taken easily over 150 hours, but I wasn't timing myself.

Today is my last final of Mod II.  And then it all starts up again on April 12, but for that week I will be practicing painting and modeling so I can have a head start come Mod III.

We are now in Alpha!  We have a likely shippable candidate of our 2D game.  The art has all been completed, the game is built, and now we go into two weeks of playtesting and bug fixing.  I will be working on art for the game box, and game manual, posters, etc.  There may be some minor tweaks to the game art, but nothing major.

Midterms are this next week -- yikes!  Not only that, but our Vertical Slice is due Friday.  Now, for those of you who aren't familiar with the term, Vertical Slice is (typically) a fully completed level of a game that has final, shippable quality of art, sound, gameplay, etc.  All other levels are then built to the quality of that Vertical Slice ( Read more... )
