I have to say, this whole thing with the fires is a little disconcerting, isn't it? I know things are tough right now, believe me.

The fact that we've got people torching places is bad enough, but has anyone thought as to why they've torched the buildings? Is this just arson for the point of anarchy? Or is it to prove a point? I'm curious. ( Read more... )

The first fire occurred in Mr. Edgeworth's office, and the second killed the police chief. The connections are easy to imagine, but there are yet to be any proven.

True. It's definitely concerning. Even if they're not related, what's the point of doing it?

Worried that your building might be next?

Oh please. My building security is second to none.

I wouldn't have expected anything less from you, but you can never be too careful. Influential people have been involved so far, after all.

So it would seem, but certainly they won't dare try to burn down a Weapons manufacturer. That is, unless they're willing to deal with the consequences.

Edgeworth's office seems to have some meaning. The Black Cat, I'm not as sure about.

The Black Cat has a lot of important patrons, you know. Myself included.

That it true. Are you suggesting that the arsonist was after you as well?

Not at all. I've never entertained the notion.

I think it's probably political, considering the targets and the death.

Maybe, or maybe they want to scare us. Although politics would be the first conclusion I would jump to as well.

There are a lot of easier ways to scare people.

Sure, but if you like setting things on fire, it's a hell of a way to do it.

I would imagine some sort of discontent with the first fire; maybe even arson. The fact that it was a specific office is the most interesting instead of torching the entire building like the fire in The Black Cat.

I'll be going to see some witnesses, so I'll probably be writing about any leads I or Holmes finds.

Especially since it was Mr. Edgeworth's office. We know he hasn't made friends.
