I'm going to Europe on Wednesday!

I am in texas! It is very, very hot. I mean, one of the girls on my tour said it was going to be 106 degrees (F) today. THAT is too hot. And now I'm off to the barbeque, hoping at least SOMETHING will be vegetarian.
and, unfortunately, leaving the nice, cool library. heatstroke, anyone?

It is summer! I got SUNBURNED yesterday (luckily not too badly) and it was weird. Really, really weird. My friends are basically all the same and stuff, its good. Berkeley hasn't changed too much and this weekend there's the Carnaval (Brazilian crazy festival where people wear feathers, sequins, glitter and not much else) on in San Francisco. my flight is now on the 23rd, since my mother is having surgery on the 22nd. just as an update.

i have a plane time and flight- the 19th of May! (a friday)
sadly, i have to make university decisions before then... lame.
and that means i'm leaving before my mother's (minor) surgery... so guilt is mounting...
still! berkeley rocks my socks. literally.

i didn't get into UC Berkeley.... shouldn't be a surprise, but somehow i held out hope. Its strange, i didn't even WANT to go there but having the option would have been nice *sigh*- i am apparently NOT in the top ~22% of their applicants. BUT, its friday! and that = a happy day! No work for TWO DAYS! What WILL i do with the time????
