Living Room [Post Meeting] !!Revised

[ Nathan Petrelli is going to make a broadcast over revealing his powers -- this is officially the reaction thread to that situation. Instead of multiple threads, this is a single reaction to the fact that he essentially outed the mutant portion of the Outworlders. ]

I suppose. Uh, congratulations! [Don't worry, he's found out in another universe, he has a daughter.]

Yeeeah that would be Deadpool. In case you couldn't tell, he isn't the sanest person in the universe.

... thanks. [Sob sob. Why do people DO that to them?]

Great. At least now I know who it is, I suppose. What can he do? ... for that matter, if it's all right, what can you?

Deadpool? Well, he's a merc, he has a healing factor and he's basically bad news if you're a target. I can teleport, that's my ability.

Huh. So... flight should be the strategy, with him?

[Blink. Tail. Teleports. That doesn't sound familiar at all, different colour notwithstanding.] Cool. I have... sonic screams, is what Hank called them. Good for anything from removing inconvenient glass to making people sit up and pay attention or curl up dizzy, to sonar, to flying. That last part took me by surpr--

Wait. You know all of this, don't you.

I think he could work around that. Why, does he have his eyes on you?

[He listens to the list and chuckles.]

I kind of had to. But it's still interesting.

I'm... not sure. We didn't get off to a very good start, I guess. [Beat.] It was his fault!

Thanks. I - wasn't too bad at it, was I?

I hope he doesn't, I can't think why he would. I'm thinking a lot of the time, it is.

You're great Sean, don't worry.

I... might have expressed doubt regarding some of the claims he was making. He took it as calling him a liar. [Shrugs. He can't honestly say that he hopes not, but he's not really looking for a fight, either.]

Thanks. I'll try to keep up with that.

Have you been here long? What do people do here?

[Oh, well then. Maybe he would have to keep an eye on them both, just to make sure nothing happened. Or maybe let others that could do a better job know about it.]

Ah.

I'm sure you'll have no problem with it.

Been here a few months. Mostly I train, just go about an ordinary life, visit people, go on trips. [Go on a mission if it comes up.] Not as exciting as life back home, but it's okay.

[Or maybe it kind of passed. For now.] I... have got a lot to learn. Obviously.

Oh. [Sean's eyes crinkle slightly.] I'm not sure the 'ordinary' is anything like I have been used to, before. I mean, before Charles and Erik showed up with their suggestion that I go with them. But I think training and all of that - I can do that.

[Beat.] There is a lot of excitement back home for you? I kind of hoped things wouldn't be too complicated, after we went anonymous.

[He laughs and shakes his head.]

I'm learning what ordinary is. I think the most ordinary I've ever experienced was living in a church for a few days. Even then, that's pushing it. I can help you if you want? A sparring partner or something.

[He smiles and shrugs one shoulder.]

We uh...we're not so anonymous. Someone's always trying to destroy the world, our kind or attacking the non-mutant population.

Never been one to not be out in the open.

[Sean smiles a bit.] I think that would be good! The more we know and all that.

I... we... [He swallows, then his eyes seek out Erik and Charles. And Alex.]

Back home, we had to do something very... visible to stop a war from happening. People didn't know about us, I guess, and it was probably frightening. But they... they didn't even try to talk with us. There were two fleets gathered, you know, the war we were trying to stop and the first potential battle. They saw what we did, and then they shot missiles at us. Lots of them. If Erik wasn't with us, we'd have been blown to bits, along with at least one CIA agent who has no powers.

Charles thought it wiser to stay less visible, after that.

That's something I regret to say hasn't changed very much.

The Cuban missile crisis? You were involved in that? [He looks over at Erik and then to Charles and back to Sean.] That's impressive. Not the becoming targets part though.

[But his cheer fades and he tries to offer a smile.]

Smart move. There's still so much hatred around in my time and we're not...in the open but we're known. That's why I'm unsure about this public display.

... yeah? [All right, he hasn't been there much later, not enough to know that it gets called that.] I mean, it was near Cuba.

[Small nod.] That's why I think the guy just now judged at least his immediate audience right. Nobody even tried to shoot at him.

[Half a smile.] Maybe there is some hope here, yet?

That's a pretty famous event in history.

[He climbs on to the arm of a couch and crouches.]

It would be nice. I just really hope there's no trouble caused by it for us. Outworlders and mutants.
