When you're learning a new language, all the words from the old start to feel loose, like teeth, in your head. And maybe that's why I haven't written much for so long. The words might just spill out randomly and in combinations I wouldn't have expected ( Read more... )

Haha. Thanks, Kaitlin, I loved this. I'mma try to write a poem when I get back, and it's probably going to sound about as, how you say, ähm, stilted as this. I had thoughts about writing a song about culture shock when I first got here (and I was typing this, I first typed "righting a song" and "culture schock." Argh.)
