INDIVIDUAL SONGS

THE SCIENTIST (Coldplay)

Clearly this song is about Sam Carter. But it goes deeper than just the name. The lyrics suggest a love that she can't grasp onto and we all know that being court marshaled isn't in her life plan. She's got her numbers and equations to hold onto even when she'd rather be holding someone else. They circle each other and hope for what can never be.

Sam is a scientist, of course, and everything she does is governed by logic and rules. She sees the entire world like that, with the laws of physics that apply, but that doesn't mean she can't see other things, too. She knows that feelings are important, too, and she's not afraid to love her team and her friends, and isn't afraid to get close to them, either, even though there's always the danger that they might all die.

We Are The Champions (Queen)

This is about OUR TEAM OF AWESOME!! We will keep on fighting to the end. No matter how bleak it might look or how many of our team falls we'll bring it every time!! Just watch and wait and see. We'll prevail. We will keep it up!

SG-1 always comes out of every situation as the winner. No matter how dire the circumstances, no matter how formidable the enemy, whenever they work together, they find a solution, and save themselves, others, and entire planets time and again.

Eye of the Tiger (Survivor)

This song so very much represents Teal'c in Ark of Truth, when he's been wounded and left behind, but still gets up again, and starts walking, through hell, basically, until he finally gets where he's supposed to be. And he does that just because his friends, his team, are so important to him. That's why he keeps on walking, even when he's exhausted and near death, and that's why he survives.

Cameron looked his fear in the face and fought back! He learned to walk again no matter how many people told him he couldn't and he became the leader of the most elite team in the SGC. That is the Eye of the Tiger!

The Final Countdown (Europe)

Every time they step through the gate it's questionable whether they'll make it back to earth. It's always a countdown to the closing of the wormhole or the bomb going off. We'll be counting down to the next time we get some Stargate action.

They know the risks every time they step through the Stargate, but the team sticks together no matter what happens.

Holding Out for a Hero (Bonnie Tyler)

Vala likes to pretend that she's tough as nails and doesn't need anyone. We can all see through her hard exterior that she's actually wanting, needing to be rescued. She's just waiting for the right man to help her through it and bring her across all her past issues! Who that hero turns out to be in the end? could be anyone.

These guys? Yeah, these are the heroes you're holding out for. Don't accept any less.

Wanted Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi)

Wanted! Can any other word describe our team so well? There are the renegade cowboys that went out into the universe, did things their way and were hunted to every corner of the galaxy. They walk the streets, a loaded P90 on their backs, they play for keeps, cause they might not make it back.

Besides my inner most desires to see Ba'al in a cowboy hat and, well, nothing else. This song fits him cause he likes to live on the edge and bang it out no matter what every one else in the universe thinks of him. Plus a steel horse. Mmm Ba'al on a motorcycle is full of WIN!

The Fear (Lily Allen)

We all know that Vala loves riches and shiny things! She doesn't care about what others think of her. She's who she wants to be and she's not going to apologize for being herself. She can be more but that doesn't mean she wants to be!

Being trapped on another planet seemed to be what Vala always wanted. until they didn't let her keep her treasure. How cruel of them not to let her have, at the very least, a tiara. I mean did they see how CUTE she looked? Her journey began with only wanting to get rich and use people and quickly turned into a time to make friends that were worth keeping.

Neutron Star Collision (Muse)

Jack and Sam are together in 99.9% realities. "Cause our love will be forever" is practically their motto.

Sam and Jack are the epitome of UST and to be honest it's surprising no one ever actually combusted on the show because of it. Their love it timeless and unconsummated. HA well Maybe it is now, but The song talks about forever love colliding. They would hit it hard.

Uprising (Muse)

Taking control of your own destiny? Not only are they fighting for their own destiny, but the future of every living being out there in the stars, and while they're at it they "shall never be afraid to die".

Vala would never allow anyone to control her. She's a force of nature, and when threatened, will do whatever it takes to save her own life, and those of her friends, and she will succeed.

Don't Stop Me Now (Queen)

Vala and Sam could both kick your ass with one hand behind their back, so chances are you couldn't stop them from having a good time if you wanted to anyway.

Vala's ready for anything. No matter what the galaxy throws at her, she keeps a sense of humor and treats life like a party.

Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden)

No matter what, whenever the shit hits the fan, Carter can and usually will show up and save the day. If all else fails, she'll just blow up another Sun.

Times are gone for honest men... but Vala? She's neither honest, nor a man, and she'll survive through anything.

Viva La Vida (Coldplay)

We all know that seas would part if Qetesh gave the word. This song is probably inspired by her bad self. Everyone wants to take her down, probably in more than one way! Plus you know she had people all over worshiping her. In fact, she still does!!

Qetesh didn't want to rule the world with Ba'al to hold her back. She took care of that small problem when she found out he wasn't completely honest with her. now the old king is dead, long live the QUEEN.

Don't fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)

SG1 doesn't fear the reaper, as they've all died at least once (or twice, or thrice....), and they've beaten him every single time. He's kind of like an old friend now.

Honestly, who can keep track of how many times Daniel has died? Death doesn't scare Daniel, his fear is letting down his team.

She's A Rebel (Green Day)

Sam Carter is a rebel of the variety who will never, ever accept being forced into a female stereotype, when she could instead be following her heart and changing the world.

Between the Goa'uld and the Ori, is there any better symbol of resistance than Vala?

Blaze Of Glory (Bon Jovi)

When all else fails SG1 like to go out in style, with guns (and zats, and P90's, and Staff Weapons, and Naquadah bombs and... you get the point) blazing. If they're going to go down, they're going to take a couple hundred Jaffa and Goa'uld with them.

SG-1 knows if they ever do go down, if they ever do die, that it will be in a blazy of glory. And they wouldn't want it any other way; they're all military, in a way, except for Daniel and Vala, but even they wouldn't want a normal, boring ending.

We Go Together (Grease)

When "the stars are shinin' bright", this group of adventurers will stick together through thick and thin - it's what's kept them alive for so long, and made sure that everyone knows their names.

Even outside of work, SG-1 is a team, a group of friends, who do everything together. Like meeting up to spend a weekend at a cabin together, and fishing (even though Vala and Cam weren't really there).

We Weren't Born To Follow (Bon Jovi)

They were born to be leaders. SG-1 is made up of brave souls who aren't meant to follow anyone. Not the Goa'uld, not the Asgard, not even the rigid regulations of their own military. And they kick ass because of it.

Qetesh and Ba'al were never born to follow, but only to lead. Both very powerful Goa'uld, they would never settle for being slaves or servants. Simple lives are beneath them, they'll do anything it takes to lead, to be in power.

Have you ever seen the Rain? (CCR)

SG1 know how to celebrate their victories, but they also know that just when they think they've won, or are about to win, something can come right along and ruin it. For example: You think you're moving up and on after winning a war with the Goa'uld? Think again and say hello to the Ori!

As the only lyrical song in Stargate it holds a special place in the hearts of any team. But what about for Thor? He helped this team that was stuck in time see through the rain to the brilliant rainbow of hope on the other side. Their missions often got rain when there was supposed to be sun, but the Asgard helped them clear out the clouds and bring back the sunshine.

Just the Girl (Click Five)

This song just puts images in my head of Vala being followed around by all the men at the SGC - they might know how she is, but it wouldn't make them want her any less.

Vala might be a whirlwind but Cam knows what he's getting into. Fast ships, big guns, dangerous women... he'll just keep coming back for more.

Katrina and the Waves (Walking on Sunshine)

Sam might not be the only one waiting for Jack to come back...

Sam and Jack will always be a just miss on screen but we all know in our hearts that off screen they got it on non stop. Court-martial be damned in the privacy of jacks cabin they were doing more than walking on sunshine.
