The Titans Treehouse was quiet early in the morning. The sun had not yet risen so most of the residents were still asleep. Or they were, until a loud shout tore through the air

In clothes much oversized--though her button-down shirt still fit rather well in some areas--Tim wandered out, pushing long black hair away from her face, yawning all the while. "Cassie," said their erstwhile leader in a modulated soprano, "Please stop shouting and calm down. I think it's rather obvious what's happening. Who else is affected this time? Bart? Kon? Jill?"
Cassie blinked in surprise at Tim, which she only knew because the girl came out of Tim's room. Then she shook her head slightly, which was weird since there was no hair brushing the back of neck. Her neck felt naked.
She did take a deep breath before she spoke again. "Well, yes it's obvious. But what happens now? How do we fix this?"
"We don't. So long as you're not hurt, there's nothing much anyone can do. Take it easy today--go for a run instead of training. The weird phenomena only last a couple of days." Tim shrugged matter of factly, "You'll probably want to get some breakfast. You've just packed on a lot of height and muscle weight. Your body will need the fuel."
When Tim mentioned height and weight, Cassie looked down and actually took in her new body for the first time. Before it had just been shock, now she actually paid attention. She was in fact taller then before and parts of her were thicker then normal. God, how did the boys survive with such huge arms? "Yeah, so I'm seeing. I feel so heavy. How do you live without feeling tired all the time?"
As she began to think rationally she began to calm down. Thankfully.
Bart wasn't usually the kind to wake up quickly, but a shout meant getting up, and there was something else that was wrong. It was like he wasn't moving right, but that couldn't be it. He didn't really feel different, like he had when he was a kid for Halloween, but should he?
He got up, brushing his hair out of his face absently, only to discover there was a lot more of it than usual. That shocked him enough to really come to what had happened. The honeymoon period was clearly over, and the island was picking on him, now, too.
"Aw, hell," he said, going to the door. Then he, well, more properly she stared. "...Cassie?"
At her name, Cassie turned quickly. But since her center of gravity was different now, she over compensated and had to put a hand on the wall to catch herself before she fell. Then she gaped at the red headed girl. "Bart?"
"Yeah," Bart said, ducking his head slightly. "I was really hoping Tim was joking about this one. You okay?"
She probably wasn't, but Bart wasn't sure he was, either. They'd made it through worse, though. At least he was pretty sure they had. "Maybe we'll get lucky and Tim'll cancel training."
Cassie just blinked as she looked at him and couldn't stop staring. Then she shook her head. "Uh yeah. Beside feeling like a giant, I'm good." No she really wasn't but she'd already freaked out once. Though now that the initial shock had worn off, she could handle herself better now.
Kon hated early mornings, but he'd gotten used to them. He'd gotten up at some godforsaken hour mostly because he was getting nervous. It was getting close to when he was supposed to go out with Cassie and he still didn't have any idea just what he was going to do. Plus there was that thing with Tim. That thing that was just him staring at Tim's hands because he hadn't known that Tim could play. That was it. But it still had him on edge, so he went for a walk.
By the time he got back to the treehouse, it was that predawn haze that meant that people were going to start waking up soon.
He was halfway up the ladder when he heard the shout. A very unfamiliar shout, and he started climbing faster.
Bart heard Kon and recognized the sounds before she thought about what the situation actually was right now. "Don't worry, Kon, everything's just a little confused right now," she said, turning as she spoke to look at him.
It was only when she heard herself that she realized just how strange this would be. And she wondered if Kon would even recognize her like this.
Kon stared. Red hair, but not the red hair he would have expected for someone in the treehouse. Warily, he climbed the last few steps and stared at the new arrival. It wasn't anyone he knew and he thought he knew all of the people that would have been here.
"It's the island," Jill supplied as she walked out of her room, rubbing her eyes as she squinted - and found herself staring at Tim.
Well. Girl-Tim. And Boy-Cassie, and- Oh, good lord. Girl-Bart. It only took her fifteen seconds to identify everyone, and her gaze swung wide and landed on Kon.
Who, for all intents and purposes, still looked like a mirror image of Clark Kent. She supposed you couldn't win everything.
"Anyone want tea?" It seemed to be the catch-all cure-all.
