Christmas morning was one of the few days they really couldn't afford to sleep in. No training, but for some reason, any day the rest of the world was celebrated tended to make the psychos come out in force. Sleep had never come easy for Bart, and lately, it had been scarce at best. He had to settle for working harder than usual and collapsing into bed for the scant hours he could get before nightmares made it impossible. Bart liked reading. He especially liked reading books in the original language, although learning enough to comprehend the subtleties lost in mental translation took a while, even for him. Late afternoon was a good time to work on the potted plants Bart had managed to coax into growing in the bat's room.
